Thank you Danielle for all the entertainment and advice. So true on many levels. May each day get easier and may your passion for angling never wane. It is an amazing tonic for the mind.
Thanks Colin Yeh I love fishing now, it’s a peaceful place, when I’m getting stressed or sad I just plan a fishing session and things start to look up 👍🎣🐟
Thank you Yeh no point obsessing over expensive gear when decent cheap gear works just as well. My favourite and most used rod is a £15 DAM spinning rod 🤩
What a fantastic easy going video, I loved it. I've only ever fished the rivers or the odd time on a reservoir, but now I'm retired, the desire to broaden my horizons and fish the sea/estuaries is getting stronger and I really must make the attempt while I can and before I join God's angling club. Keep entertaining us please so I can learn. Thank you.
@@fishinghinny Hi Dannielle, I'm now the happy owner of a Penn Tidal XR 420 paired with a Surfblaster III 8000, loaded with line and the terminal tackle I need to get me started. I've been given a few other bits and pieces too, so I'll be on the bankside soon to start my apprenticeship. Very happy days ahead. Alan. X.
Do it, you’ll not catch fish while not fishing. Mind, it’s pretty shabby this time of year, I’ve blanked a couple sessions this week already. Rivers seem to be best bet. Roll on better weather 👍🎣🐟
@@fishinghinny i’m still getting out. Been Fishing a few of the Yorkshire beaches, but like you said it is a little dead at the moment. In Looking forward to the smooth hounds coming back Shouldn’t be too long now
Good afternoon young lady. Sound advice , some fresh air and a little sun is a tonic.. nice to see a few little codling in the river Well done and thank you 😎🎣
So pleased you have a happy place, your videos benefit us too. The wife can’t understand how I can fish for hours, but the time seems to fly past and I'm always reluctant to pack up and have about 5 “ last casts “.
Love your enthusiasm for the great sport of fishing. May it always be with you. Nothing better for washing away life's negatives. Well done on another good video. 👍 Thanks for sharing.
Another great video, and a lively fishing session. Nice also to see codling still exist! They used to be prolific down here but hardly ever show from the shore these days. Looking forward to your next adventure, and maybe another excerpt from your other job 🎼
Apologies for not commenting for a week or so, I took my wife for a 70 th birthday treat on the river Rhine, I wasn't allowed to fish but gained Brownie points. You really looked like you were enjoying that trip and the sky scenes were excellent, nice easy venue, wish there was one like that near me, you're right, fishing is good for mental health, I'm to far from the sea but there's plenty of waters for fresh water fishing, thanks for the videos, take care, Norfolk Ray
Not a problem Ray, I won’t deduct brownie points for not commenting - although your support is always very much appreciated 🤩😊 I’m going to try some fresh water fishing this year too 👍🎣🐟
Cracking little session, impressed with your casting style, you should fish the measure and release matches we fish on Wednesday nights. It’s a good laugh and you learn from some of the best anglers in the North East. Great video 👍👍👍
A great session there well done Hinny, nice comfortable fishing mark as well never fished further up the river. Fishing is always good medicine sometimes it's just nice to be out in the fresh air chilling, tight lines and keep up the posts
Hi Dannielle, I was going to have a chuck in at the Copthorne at tea time today and fish the 3 hours of ebb and 2 hours of flood tide, but I couldn't get parked anywhere near, so I drove along to St Peter's and down Glasshouse Street to where you are on this video and was told I couldn't fish there by someone who claimed to be a resident, so I gave up. I did however, stand next to the railings for 30 minutes od so and watched the water, is was a very dirty colour and there was a great deal of branches, twigs and rubbish coming down, including a fair bit of plastic, polystyrene and planks of wood. So I wonder if there'd been some rain a lot higher up the valley and in the Hexham area. There's always next time.
Hi I know that the houses to the left (as you look at the river) of that spot have a sign up on them stating no fishing, but I was told by a local resident when there that fishing from the right side of the cut, up to the railings upstream was fine to fish, I had no problems and chatted to a few passing residents too with no issues. I did have a little trouble with debris there too on the ebb as the current pushes everything right up against that area, esp on a big tide
Lovely comfy session :-) You need those. I feel like a kid again watching you. A few fish makes s big difference:-) You will be ready for a bit rougher session on the rocks now. Thank you for mentioning mental health. Thank you too for show casing local musicians. A big thank you to you for making and sharing your videos with us.
Been blanking on the bass with lures since late November but still enjoyed every session throughout the winter, it's not all about catching fish, the feel good factor when you are on the coast is what matters most. Tonight the bay was buzzing gannets and terns hunting the water and I caught my first bass for 2024 a 60cm fatty. Keep your videos coming please, you can fish, regards from Ireland.
Superb video and really cheered me up seeing you enjoying your fishing. Hopefully it will encourage more female anglers. More power to you and more fish
A nice little session Danielle, they would be good fun on a 10ft spinning rod, i use that all the time in the summer for bass and mullet. its much better than the big rods, a good worm experiment, I must admit in south Wales I love using rag. I love fishing Newcastle area , i will try a late Autumn trip later this year.
Thanks Allen Yeh, perhaps my 9’ rod would have been a better choice than the Sonik on this trip. There should hopefully be some good cod around in the Autumn if you get up this way. Tight lines 👍🎣🐟
