Excellent footage looks fantastic. The Air 3S checks all the boxes for what I need. You always look so happy when you put a new drone in the air for the first time.
Thanks for the comment, it's always a fun time when you're flying a new drone for the first time. The Air 3S has everything you could want in a drone and is fast becoming my go-to favorite. Stay tuned for more content soon and consider subbing the channel so you don't miss anything.
Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you enjoyed the clip the Air 3S is really next level. I appreciate your support throughout the years and hope you're doing great!
You can use two or more of your spikes for holding down your launch pad. What you wanna do is put them on an extreme angle going into the ground most of it facing away from the centre of the launchpad this way, your drone propellers won’t hit the pegs. 🤘
Thanks for the post and if you're flying the Air 3, there's no need to upgrade. That Air 3 is an amazing quad and gives you 95% of what the Air 3S provides. Happy flying!
Ron, thanks for stopping by and the Air 3S is pretty amazing and I love getting chance to fly at new locations. I hope you're doing OK and getting some relaxing time to fly as wel.
That stinks but I can promise you that it's worth the wait. It flies like a dream and the imaging package is amazing. You'll have a lot of fun with it and capture some stunning videos. Stop back again for more content this week.
@@Dronevalley Appreciate it. DJI issued a refund today. They offered to send another. I’ll give it a few weeks for the nonsense to stop and order another. Great videos.
Rick, Thank you for sharing. Such great footage! Was the footage straight out of camera or did you color grade before posting? Again, Thank you for all you do to help the drone community.
Thanks for the post and the footage was included in the video right off the SD card with no adjustment. I recorded it at 4K 60fps and it looks really good. The larger sensor and upgraded imaging package really makes a difference. Stop back for more content this week.
Beautiful footage. In also just got the Air 3S. It’s great to see a TH-cam drone channel where the owner (you);understand what VLOS means. The FAA could have a field day fining those TH-cam publishers who disregard that rule.
I'm glad you appreciate the footage and thanks for stopping by! I also get frustrated when I see fliers ignoring the VLOS rule because it's dangerous to fly when you can only see about 30% of the airspace. I know a lot of folks think the rule is foolish, but you have a very limited view of the sky in front of you through the drone camera and a lot of aircraft fly well below the 400' limit. I've been surprised by helicopters, small planes and balloons many times and wouldn't want to be the first drone pilot to have an accident.
I liked the video and your enthusiasm. In the video, you said that you got it a couple of days ago. Does this mean that the Air 3S is not being stopped by US Customs anymore? When it comes to the two different lenses, can you be recording and switch from one lens to another or do you need to stop recording, change the lens and then hit record to start recording with the new lens? Thanks Rick.
Thanks for the post and I got an early unit for testing and think the custom issues are still delaying delivery of some units. I've had the drone a few weeks at this point and that video was started 2 days after it arrived but I needed a few weeks of flying to collect all of the footage. You can continue to record while switching between the cameras and use the scroll wheel on the controller to zoom in on a subject. The DJI Air 3S is the best drone flying right now, except for the Mavic 3 Cine. It's also a great value when compared to other options. Stop back soon for more content and be sure to sub the channel. Rick
I appreciate you watching and thanks for the comment. The Air 3 is hands-down the best drone flying today and I'd put it up against my Mavic 3 for video quality. Stay tuned for more content soon.
Yes, it's exceptional in the wind and most of that has to do with it's mass. Even though the DJI Mini drones can fight a level 4-5 wind, they do get buffeted a lot and have to struggle, which cuts down on their flight time. The Air 3S can handle the wind with ease and a few of the flights over the bay and lakes were done on really windy days with no issue.
Definitely looking forward to seeing actual real time flight time . Not hovering but flying fairly slow but including a mix of flying. I don't think 30 minutes or over is doable in normal conditions.
I'll try and test that soon. In my flights I tend to land with about 20% of the battery left for the longest ones and get 20-25 minutes of flight under normal conditions. The specs that all drone companies publish are "full to dead" on the batteries and you'll never really get that much flight time. Even still it's a good measure to compare drones and anything over 20 minutes is pretty amazing with a drone this large.
Lol, I'm well past 60 but still have that kid inside that loves playing with new tech. The DJI air 3S is amazing and the video is incredible. Thanks for the post!
I haven't heard anything about a new Mavic but I can promise you that if it ever gets here, it'll be more expensive and the difference between them might not justify the cost. The air 3S is everything you want in a drone and a pleasure to fly. Thanks for the post and stay tuned for more content this week. Rick
I am currently owe a DJI Air 2 S , which is fine . The only complain I have is when flying more 1000 meters or more than half mile away , sometimes I lose connection and I have to wait sometimes up to 1 minute before my drone can come back on RTH mode ....Its kind of nerve racking.... I hope the connection on the Air 3 S is better .
A lot of connection issues have to do with the area your flying in and the obstructions. Trees are actually your biggest enemy because of their water content. Radio signals can't transmit through water very well and if you're flying around trees that can really affect your connection. The Air 3S uses Ocusync 4 communication tech, which is better than the Air 2S so that will help provide a longer stable distance.
It is too bad the USA has declared a customs war on DJI, I can't buy this drone at Best Buy even a month after release. I will not buy directly from DJI so I am stuck with my Air 2 for now.
1. You have overexposed way to high @09:30....maybe leave on AUTO as you forget to change the SS? 2. You know you have POI, so why do not use it, as in same area can be seen how nasty the control for a circle was made?
Thanks for the post and these were all shot on Auto, it was just an incredibly sunny day at golden hour and the system was reacting to the varying light levels. Normally I would have used an ND filter to cut down on some of it. For that last shot I did have it in POI but it was incredibly windy and the drone was drifting a bit. I think it still turned out OK as a test to show how well the drone handles a level 3 wind from all sides.
Great video Rick. Definitely a great drone. Maybe I'll purchase one, one day. I still have my air 2 and air 2S and I know they're old, but we all know that air 2S is still an amazing drone. In fact, I still think it's as good as the air 3S but without the Lidar and newer tech. As always Rick. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the post and all of that footage came from flights in my home state of NJ. Most folks don't know how beautiful and diverse the state is and I love it. I'll have more content posting this week on the Air 3S and the Neo.
Hi Rick👋🏻, Gary here from the UK 😀 Super first flight with the Air3 S, just got mine yesterday ✌🏻 waiting for some descent weather for here first flight real soon 🤗, I have subscribed to your channel too, love to have you as new friend too.
Beautiful scenery Rick. ❤

@ thanks for the answer and it looks like such an awesome drone. I don’t know what the mavic 4 could have to really beat this drone badly.
Thanks Rick, very nice video footage.

It's a great drone! Love mine! And loved that footage Rick!👌👊
Question does the built in screen remote have built-in apps for edit and if so, are they as fast as a phone in terms of processing video? Thanks
