I think this game was supposed to be a sequel to Death to Spies 2, which was a pretty good couple of games that used the Hitman engine and somehow they turned this third entry into shit.
I did a full playthrough of Alekhine's Gun a while ago and found there's a WAY more fun way to play the game... knife only. The throwing knife is an auto-kill and has good lock on, but you have to be able to get to your knife without being caught. It turns the game from a shitty stealth action game into a cool puzzle game

The first 2 games are janky hitman-likes, super buggy and really difficult, where the way you solve the mission feels like you're breaking the game and makes you go "there's no fucking way that's what you're supposed to do there..." Actually, the older games are like 10 times better somehow...
I really enjoyed those games. I first hated them with "only" 250 hours in Hitman WoA, however after 700 hours I graduated from the University of ICA and was finally ready to tackle these games on and had a blast. I think they were the hardest games I've ever played, by far the hardest stealth games that I know of (only counting 3rd person stealth games such as MGS 5, Splinter Cell, Hitman, Styx etc since I only enjoy stealth from this camera angle). I get shaky when I beat bosses in Elden Ring, Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne etc, trembling in excitement, however I literally shrieked out the first time (and only time) I ever got a Wolfhound rating in DTS, I think it was mission 4 (the one inside the ginormous nazi house with the prison). And yeah, these games are pure chaos. You have shitty weapons, you have no crates to hide bodies, you move slow, the character is unresponsive. These games have all the hallmarks of a terrible game, but man, when you get it done you feel like a genius. I'd say they're both the hardest stealth and puzzle games. Highly recommended, but exclusively to Hardcore Hitman fans who can't understand why everybody hates maps such as Bangkok and Colorado and considers SASO there to be easy.

The closes thing to it in reality only works from 4 feet away, single shot, and only works 3 times in a row before it is useless, it also can't pierce a helmet or armour. The same devs released Death to Spies and Death to Spies:Moment of Truth which are infinitely better. I wouldn't recommend these games to anybody except hardcore Hitman fans though. The games are clunky, slow, weapons are ineffective even at close range, enemies can see you from everywhere, there's no real crates to hide bodies and all animations are horrible. In fact, these games are an ultra-hardcore version of Blood Money, they even use the BM engine. I've never played a single stealth game that's even remotely close to them. Hitman SASO master mode or Splinter Cell:Blacklist Perfectionist mode don't even begin to compare with normal difficulty in those two games. However, that's what makes them so great SPECIFICALLY for hardcore Hitman fans. As somebody with around 900 hours in Hitman since 2016, I feel as if all those hours were there to prepare me for that nightmarish Russian Hitman alternate universe. There is nothing more rewarding than finishing these missions in any way, shape or form even on normal difficulty with an amateur rating. I once got a wolfhound rating in one of the missions (DTS version of SASO) and I literally shrieked out of joy. Not even souls games feel this rewarding when you beat a boss for the first time. If you're the type to cry about SASO in Bangkok or Colorado, stay the hell away, those missions aren't even 5% as difficult as the easiest DTS missions. If you want to see what the Dark Souls of Hitman games are like, check them out. Highly recommended, but I repeat for the upteempth time: FOR HARDCORE Hitman fans ONLY!!!

All I know about this game is that it's a sequel to a series of similar PC games that never got much attention, called Death to Spies iirc, and they somehow all reviewed worse than this one did.
Hey now! for a low budget game that looked like it couldve released on the PS3/360 its actually a decent game 😂 if you can get this game on sale its worth a play if your bored for a night or two and want something new to play.
