Midnight Rockers HiFi - Setup and First Tunes @The Courtyard, Beckenham Place Park, London 27/8/2022

Led by a slightly limping Nick Thistle (he with the orange trainers), and toiling under the blazing heat of the Lewisham mid-day sun, the Midnight Rockers HiFi crew soon got their vintage Turbosound rig up and running. Even walls proved no obstacle as one member demonstrated his ability to quickly scale them in order to retrieve two wooden pallets from the adjoining compound. And not a single glove was evident - these men take wood splinters in their stride! Solid team work was evident throughout the operation with everyone doing their fair share. The various dogs in the courtyard regularly gave their barks of approval.

Such effort goes into setting up just the rig, I've done a small set up at my local with two tops and mids & decks etc and that took a while I cant imagine doing a whole system! Props!

This morning I was the second person to arrive at Channel One Corner - Jah T was already there and he was waiting for the truck to arrive. So you can expect a video later this week on how Channel One set up their system. But when I left them at 2pm they had not yet played their first tune - some technical problems were delaying their start (they had planned to start at 1pm).
