Another great presentation! The lines used at Rendezvous and other similar events have lots of "memory" in them that cause the coils to be hard. This is due to the lines being stored coiled for all but two days of the year. Often times I see the first couple of teams just step up and make throws without success. If they took a few moments to stretch out the lines first, they might have better success.
Yes! Ask the judge if its okay to throw it w/o it counting the throw so the line can be recoiled properly. If not, then just stretch them off to the side. Good advice!
@@thecollegequarterdeck another thing to add is in the practical use of a heaving line, the goal is not to have a person on the other end "catch" the monkeys fist, but for the line to follow the path and be pulled in by a person on the other side.
After trying to watch this video on various devices, there seems to be an issue at running this video at higher resolutions. It runs smoothly on my desktop, but has issues on mobile devices or laptops. However, you should be able to get all the information out of the video regardless of resolutions quality.
