1979 Hitachi TRK-8080E Refurb

Another customer repair, this time a Hitachi TRK-8080E, a distinctive looking unit from 1979 which I may have been the first person to open up since it was made. The outside condition was already really good but the controls, tape deck, tuner faceplate, tape door and speakers were the main issues addressed in this repair.

Halfway through this video I upgraded the lavalier microphone so no, you're not imagining it if you hear the hiss drop away halfway through. The new mic (into the same recorder) is much much better.
