Love your videos. I'm getting a 380 LX and had a question about your outboard. Does your Suzuki have any issues when you go wide open? I've read that ventilation is a real issue with a lot of outboards and finding the right combination of motor and prop is hard. Are you using a stock Suzuki? Do you have any issues with the transom when using such a powerful outboard? Your trips seems really great and having the extra power of a 20 might be useful -- especially in a storm! Anyway, would love to hear your experience with the Suzuki and 380 LX Takacat. I see you also like watches .... just bought a Borealis Adraga from eBay. Affordable luxury!

Great questions. I love the 20hp outboard. It's quiet and smooth. Wide open it's so fast with such a lightweight boat, that it's like a rollercoaster ride. The Takacat will handle any water conditions, but wakes from other boats can be unnerving to say the least. I am going to experiment with a different prop in the spring, because wide-open, there is a lot of splashing around the transom and over the motor. Might try a hydrofoil. Haven't had trouble with ventilation or cavitation yet. The transom seems to handle the motor just fine. I want to pull wake boarders and tubes (kids) next year. We're rigging up a way to do that over this winter. Best thing about the 20hp motor has been the ability to explore really large lakes, like Flaming Gorge. We covered more than 20 miles down and back from the dam. Very comfortable ride. Also, I looked at the Borealis watches. VERY NICE!!!
