I'm flying Lufthansa's 747-400 from Vancouver to Frankfurt next week. So excited. Didn't think i'd ever get the chance to fly on the queen ever again butn here I go.

Thanks for sharing. The 747 is an amazing aircraft to fly on and I have flown on many airlines’ variants over the last 20 years from BA, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, Japan Airlines and more. I wish it was still widely used, My favourite is the 747-400 but I will always remember my first flight on a BA 747-100 to New York JFK in 1998.

I was so glad to find this review! I have wanted for a long time to make one last flight on a 747! I live in Toronto, and have been exploring the possibility of booking a trip on this very flight! I am flying to FRA in November, they just changed plane from yvr to fra to their 747-400, from their newer 787-9. Crossing fingers that it stays that way. Last November, they switched it to Eurowings Discover!

Nice video. Huge like. I also love flying with the 744...i did it already with Air France, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air and Saudia. Ah next month i will have a new opportunity..with Korean Air from Paris to Seoul...but with the 748. :)

LH was a good choice back in the 80's.
That was when we have often chosen LH to fly long haul.
Subsequently seats gradually became uncomfortable and service dropped dramatically.
On both, whithin Europe and on International routes - on the ground and in the air!
By today we avoid flying LH whenever possible.
I understand that all and everything is about money, especially these days.
But constantly downgrading comfort and service just is a pain in the neck and unacceptable to us.
However, there is lot's of competition going on and whenever our plans call for travel Airlines such as KLM, Delta and JAL are our first choice.
For whatever reason Lufthansa has been rated a 5 Star Airline by SkyTrax will remain a mystery to us!
Never mind, good video though... confirming my overall impression and decision to further avoid LH.

Totally agree. Now you even need to purchase snacks on long haul flights in between the meal service. I prefer Air France, KLM or SWISS. Its cool to fly Lufthansa if 747 is your preference but thats about it. A muffin and fruit only for breakfast? 😮
I flew a 747 Toronto to Paris with Air France. I was the only one with a suite and tie and they upgrade to first class for free. Wow.....

Favorite was BA -400 in seat 2A was a “ perfect “ flight.

hi how are you. Were those two people the only ones wearing a mask on the flight. Was LH strict about checked bag weight. How did you rate the customer service
Hi Duane. Very few people were wearing masks. Besides LH on board's service, I have not too much to add on the customer service since I booked this ticket thru United and I was connecting with Air Canada from New York so I checked the luggage with AC
Can you charge your phone?
I flew exactly this route and plane in August this year . One of my worst flying experience 😢. 2 and half hour delay, the plane was dirty. The food was baby meals and the chicken i was ordered was just a skin . The breakfast was an old cold muffin . Another thing is Frankfurt airport it is chaos.
I will not travel with Lufthansa again. Last 2 years i traveled with air Canada (was a nice flight) air france and KLM ( were a very good flight).

How can I choose to fly on a 747 plane?
Hi Carlos. There are few operators that still fly the 747's. Some of them are Lufthansa, Asiana Airlines, Air China and Korean Air. Lufthansa operates all their 747's from Frankfurt to different destinations. If I am correct, currently to Miami, Chicago, Toronto, Buenos Aires just to mention some of them. You can check with them or with the other operators to be sure. Hope this helps!

Lufthansa the best plane ever they kept clean they maintain absolutely perfect service is nice my kind of plane
Hi sir, I am currently planning a trip from FKT to shanghai in one of these beauties with Lufthansa but I am afraid about the confornt in the cabin. I saw another KLM flight available in a 777-300 and to be honest it seems as comfortable as the 787. What do you think? what shall I chose?

Hi Francisco. I haven't flown KLM's 777-300's but I found more comfortable the 787 than the 777 by far. The seats for the 777 should be a little wider than the 747-400 but I found these comfortable. The pitch between the two I believe is the same. Hope you'll enjoy your trip!

The on board internet access service is not free for long-haul flights on Economy class. Lufthansa offers access by paying a fee as follows:
Messaging 7.00USD, 2 hours web browsing for $18.00USD and $27.00USD for the full flight. You can buy it in advance thru their website.

Nice report! It’s been several years, but I flew on Lufthansa’s 744s quite a few times. Lufthansa maintains those planes so well, and when boarding, I always felt that I was slipping on a pair of comfortable old sturdy shoes.

I just flew toronto to frankfurt then to turkey. With the 747 , i felt like it was super outdated with the cabij storage and seats
I have always enjoyed flying on 747s. My last flight on one was from Osaka to Honolulu. What a smooth relaxing ride!

As much as I love the 747, it is starting to age. Newer aircrafts like the 787 have a very elegant cabin. Loved this video, waiting for many more 👍

@@alexanderlane6007 totally agree, it's just that the interiors are kinda meh as compared to like 787 or A350. The 747-8 on the other hand is like the absolute dream.
