Filoni doing precisely what he's done 18 times before is exactly the last thing Star Wars Fans would expect him to do this time! There is, however, one small problem... The fact people don't like it.
I've seen this arc like four or five times, I have never noticed the repetitions before. you're right, that is kinda crazy. this arc probably should have been three episodes. you probably could pluck an average of 5 minutes from each of these four episodes of just repetition of a previous episode. which is about the length of a whole episode. there are people who love this arc, i think it's just fine. not bad, but not spectacular either. the people who love this arc mostly just remember Saw Gerrera's character development. and while i think he is a good character, the majority of his character development is in the last episode of the arc. Saw's arc continues in the disney canon, where quickly becomes a morally-dark hero character that disney-fans either really really love or really really love to hate.
