And now there isn't the technical limitations on special effects, if you want an army of photo realistic robots, you can make them on a desktop for free. There are tools to deliver the movies/tv shows/cartoons the 80s wanted to make but the only ones using them have forgotten or ignored what we had before - which was awesome.
