Noob question here. At the very start when you launch serum, is it isolated to its own channel or is tied to a midi or audio clip? I'm following everything i see but it just seems to make a piano sound and nothing changes as i change the oscillators. You seem to make the sound in just 5 clicks and i cant even make that far
Hi good question so serum is considered an instrument (synth) so those would go on midi tracks so we can have access to piano roll! Audio tracks are for only dragging and dropping like mp3 or wave files in the channel rather than making a midi note and play an instrument
hmm double check every single knob and button in serum and make sure they are exact, also check your processing chain to make sure that is right and the master too. if you ever need private video lessons i do those too
this very is very confusing. I turned both the level knobs down like yours and then it stops producing sound- I feel it needs more simplified for beginners
Hi yes it’s a confusing step here but the level is the volume so turning it down makes no sound. But for use to get the sound back we drag and drop the LFO1 onto that level knob and then tell the lfo to go up all the way to 0. This is a critical step because it allows for movement and control of your sound.
11:10 YES to always adding movement to your sounds. I remember Subtronics on a Twitch stream once said “ABM: Always Be Modulating”
yesss exactly, so important and it makes everything sound so good!!
I've consumed so many production tutorials in my life, and this is one of the best I have ever seen. You sir are a true hero!

OMG thank you so freaking much! This was beyond helpful!❤
Heck yeah! You are so welcome! I’m glad it helped 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😈😊
What do you mean by add a clean sub after? You use the same clean sub for all the bass sounds?
a clean sub would be a sine wave at a high intensity, other subs are "dirtier"
by adding more harmonics and distortion.
Super useful content Dripment. You are saving lives
Thanks man, glad I be saving lives out here 😊😂😎🔥🔥

You need to change the octave for your midi keyboard. I use an external controller and changed the octave down 2 to get the same bass sound.
This was really good thanks :)
Your welcome! 😊
THANK YOU
no problem!!!! got you 👍🏽
You really made it so much less intimidating for me thank you ❤

Love This!!! Please make this into a series of easy to complex sound design and examples of them in drops. (this helped a ton)
Sounds good! Thank you so much for the support and feedback 😊
