Hi. I picked this game up about a month ago, and I wanted to tell you that your season 2 videos have been an absolute goldmine of info for me whilst I've been learning the ropes. Also it doesn't hurt that you have a very soothing voice and don't take yourself too seriously. You may not be Annie Oakley when it comes to shooting, but damn, you have that melee timing down to a fine art. It's a shame that season 2 was cut short at the airfield, but I'm guessing that the wipe saw to that. Anyway, I now have ~14 days on the island, with a Laika up and running and a little base (which just happens to be on the opposite side of the lake from where you just built this one), and that's in no small part thanks to your help and advice, so thanks for that. Cooking chicken on a skewer defeated me as well. It doesn't help that all the time you're faffing about by the fire you're getting hotter, to the point where I was worried I'd pass out and fall in the bloody thing. In the end I made the improvised grill which you'll need anyway to cook the drumsticks, IIRC. For fishing add the reel, line, float, hook & bait in that order, left click to cast, left again to set the hook, then reel in SLOWLY with mouse wheel. keep going till it's right at your feet, et voila, the fish appears in your hand.

That is one crazy creative base idea you've got going. Never in a million years would I have thought to blend prefab with custom built parts that way. It's pretty innovative too: you've got the custom built part to place things like containers, furniture, gun racks, etc., which is awesome because those can't be placed on prefab walls/floors. Then you've also got the respawning loot containers in the prefab parts, and the prefab parts are indestructible, so you've got a place to hide if worse comes to worse. Cooking, imo, still needs a lot of love. They should give us more starting recipes - we need a cookbook for way too many things. We also need more recipes in general. Anything I cook on a frying pan (or a grill) somehow always comes out cold even when it's "cooked perfectly," and cooked meals fill you up way too much. I've let myself starve down to 40%, and one cooked fish fillet STILL filled me up over 100%. Had to spend 45 real minutes running around in circles with a wheelbarrow to prevent myself from gaining fat after that one meal.
Thanks 🤗 I'm glad the base turned out alright, I was expecting it to glitch out to be honest 😂 I'm so grateful for the comments made already as really couldn't figure out the cooking at all, it's very different to all the other games I play, & agree, whilst I can appreciate what they were trying to do, it's a little convoluted. But next episode, we'll get it learned somehow 😁 Thanks for the tips on the food tho, who knew a fish fillet was that calorific 😂
The chicken has finally been caught! Praise be to the Scum GODS!! XD Also, it's been so long since I've played this game, I totally forgot how to do the skewer thing to even tell you how and all I did was cook in this game! 😂
Hi, good to see you back on SCUM. To cook on a skewer hold "F" on the lit fire and select "cook food", then click the "skewer" on the right hand side. Your not going to believe this but you don't need to make a skewer to do this, just click the + on 1 or 2 along the right and one will be provided for you. Then select the "meat skewer" and drag what you have to the right spots. Once you have everything were you want it click start cooking and wait for the timer. Good luck.
Been enjoying your vids. Learned alot. Just started but your the first that made zombie skin stuff that saw. But curious about house placement. What I read on forums is mixed but some say prefabs can still spawn puppets and if that is case, you have opening to roof and floor of 1. But keep em coming.
@@Lochar Hi! Thanks, glad I could help. If the prefab has a natural Puppet spawn placement in it, despite any building you do in or around it, that Puppet will always continue to spawn there, unfortunately the placement of a flag doesn't stop it either. With where I've built, inside the Cabin is one such place, so I need to be mindful of that. But the rest of the base should be fine 😊

Hi Oli, great base idea. Just a hint, instead of the 2nd floor and stairs, you could have just built an improvised wardrobe there, your character can climb it and then hop on the roof :) (Treba)
need a generator to operate the oven, a propane tank to use the stove top. You could have been more efficient if you had chopped the large sticks into small sticks for building.
Oli the penalty would depend on how you dies and if it was preventable or not. make a couple of list for us to vote on one for preventable deaths and one for non-preventable deaths. ideally 10 of each for us to choose the top 5 for each.

I have a suggestion for a death penalty. If you die, you have to upgrade all of your base 1 level before you can continue your adventures! 😈🤣
