I had this happen this guy and his gf were in the seats I picked and paid for. Had to tell him they were in our seats and his gf just smiled awkwardly and looked at her bf who already had his shoes off and his snacks opened. He got up and rudely told me to wait. They got up and moved to the seats in front of us and those ended up being a other persons seats as well. Some ppl are no good.
And those people can get kicked in the face, as nicely as possible of course.
This one dude was with his girlfriend and told a guy with his girlfriend that he had bought those seats and the dude gets up and shoots him in the head. He almost got away it but his girlfriend snitched on him. Idk how many years he got but he’s not coming out for a long time.
Edit- sorry he was actually shot in the leg thank God. It was at concord mills if you want to look into it.

As a theater manager, I have delt with this several times...and yes he would have left in cuffs.
I think that it depends on whether this is a first instance. If this has been a problem before, no doubt you call the cops on him. On the other hand, its always easier to just have him leave for his first offense.

I witnessed something pathetic like this when I saw Transformers 2 in theatres. Some guy who looked like a weirdo like the guy in the video was seeing the movie by himself, and he sat in some seats that were reserve by 3 young guys and he refused to move, when they demanded he move he stood up all aggressively and raised his voice like this and threatened them saying “he didn’t take 10 years of karate for nothing” it was tense, the lights went on and everyone in the packed theatre was watching it. A bunch of staff came and had to remove him, the theatre clapped when he exited the door. It was a better spectacle than the movie. Lmao
The movie was okay but the opening show was excellent 👌
Imagine throwing a tantrum like a child, and the adult wording it and de-escalating the situation so that the man-child can feel validated "oh, can I have a drink" and feel like he is still being rewarded for his behavior and in control of it. Generation that never emotionally matured.

That woman was great. De-escalated. Offered things and made it seem like he was in control. That's a great way to handle these kinds of people for the greater good of everyone else. If she was rude or condescending, he would have dug his heels in.

I honestly think that the only reason that he was more civil with her was because she was a woman. These people tend to be old-minded and think that everyone should bow down to them. I have had similar instances while working in a movie theater, and I have found that if someone is constantly dissatisfied at a movie theater, god knows that they cause a lot more of a ruckus elsewhere.
@@TheMrDunker I don't think that is the case. Women managers tend to be more apologetic, giving the asshole a feeling of control. While male managers tend to be more controlling. While some tend to think you shouldn't give in to brats, I think for the greater good, it's better to pretend they have power and get them the fuck out faster.

Same exact thing happened today to me and my friends except the theater was a lot more packed. There was a man who were sitting in our reserved seats and as we were coming down the row he was already looking to cause a scene by mumbling racist and misogynistic remarks to us. We tried finding another seat since we didn't want to deal with it but they were all reserved. I bit the bullet and got an employee to which the man started to berate the employee. I had enough and told him to ef off.

Glad my local theater gives you the choice to sit anywhere. You don't need assigned seating. Are we now in school or on an airplane? It's not hard to see why many often do not adhere to it. So if someone else sits in your seat, you gotta get them a shift. And considering this person is clearly the inattentive type, you don't know how they'll react. Often, they would say "Oh just sit anywhere." And you do but now you just sat in someone else's seat and now you're asked to move. It's just a miserable cycle that I'm glad I don't have to take.

That was the seat I paid for I went to go see Black Panther Wakanda Forever we took the 8:30 PM movie at 42 street my ticket was k13 then I accidentally sat at the wrong seat and guy said "excuse me I think you are sitting at the wrong seat so I said sorry I didn't know this was your seat he said is okay then I said sorry again so I ended up moving to my seat no usher was called

It sounded like Canada... they were so polite when they apologized for "ruining" the movie for him. But if it were me, when he said "Y'know, I think I might like to be taken out in handcuffs..." I would've said "Great. I'm going to make that happen right now," and would've ended the discussion.
Even better... since I'm no longer as young or as big as I used to be... it would've been hilarious to see someone come up to him and say in a very calm and intense voice "Sir... you're about ten seconds away from the most embarrassing moment of your life," and then slowly put their phone down and take their jacket off.
