Such a simple, clear presentation! BTW, If you go to the bakery department at the supermarket, they usually have some food grade buckets they’ll let you have for free.
You are very encouraging. I will immediately try to follow your instructions that were so clearly made. May God bless you to achieve your dream through this project. Hope to learn more from you. Thank you for sharing your time, your project, your experience and your intellect.
I just added 8 tsp vinegar to my vertical romaine towers 4 gallons of water. It lowered my pH just like you said it would. This is excellent content. Thank you for sharing.
This video is so simple and easy to follow. Thank you for making this, this would be my first grow hydroponic and I'm feeling confident! Just subscribed
I would use a under bed storage box. They are about 6 inches deep. Perfect for salad. And it takes up less space but you would have to monitor the water level or create a basin with a 20 or 30 gallon Rubber made container and run a pump. yes it would use electricity but would be well worth it. But great video. Thank you.
if the water in the bucket goes above 68 degrees you will get root rot, also no oxygen in the bucket doesn't sound like a great idea. I would grow it indoors for hot weather areas and add an airstone to oxygen the roots
Great Video, will follow your plan. However, I read concerns with Mosquito Breeding inside buckets, how to stop this, otherwise this method is easiest.
If you don’t remove the plant entirely from the net pots and just cut at the base, could you then in theory leave the remaining bit the bucket and regrow new lettuce from those existing roots? Similar to the whole “veggies from the the supermarket left in a glass thing” like lettuce and green onions etc you see trending?
Thanks for this excellent video. Can you refill the bucket with the nutrient-rich water as and when the water level drops, or is this just a one-time thing?
The 3-1-2 ratio of N-P-K in Foliage Pro 9-3-6 results in greater mineral uptake by foliage plants thereby reducing harmful salt build-up and eliminating deficiencies. Foliage-Pro outperforms all other fertilizers in low light environments and Interiorscapers across the country use Foliage-Pro to maintain healthy, controlled growth on foliage plants and trees.
Love the channel and the work you do. Is there any risk of chemicals or molecules from the plastic getting uptaken by the roots of these vegetables? Would the vegetables be "cleaner" so to speak if they were grown in a glass jar versus plastic? The reason I ask is that there are a lot of scientists claiming that plastic can infiltrate the liquids contained within them. So it is naturally a reasonable concern.
This is a great video for beginners. Search kratky if you want to see more of this growing style. Its good to mention ph as that can ruin everything if its wrong. I want to try the same thing with cherry tomatoes.
Hi Hannah... great, Thank you for the information and demonstration. Can you tell me if i harvest the lettuce (maybe not a whole head at a time though) will it regrow from that plant once or twice more like I've seen on other videos? Or do I just start over? And also, since the is a hydroponic method, can I grow them indoors provided I give them enough sunlight? I live in AZ and the sun is just too hot, plus I want to grow them outside of the normal growing season. Thank you!
If you're harvesting a few leaves at a time you can leave it and it will regrow. For heads it's better to start over because roots will die off because there's not enough leaf mass to support. The dying roots can then start to rot and cause problems that way.
The "set it and forget it method", better known as the "Kratky method". Very nice video though, will definitely share if anyone I know wants to get into hydroponics!
So this isn't Kratky because you did not leave room for air roots. Right? Also, you do not cover the top of the net pot with clay pebbles to keep algae from growing?
nice explain, but need more information about nutrients, because I am from India I think all liquid nutrients are not available in single package, currently I found nearby nursery and Store this suggest to use ● 2 gram npk 4.18.38 ● 2 gram calcium nitrate ● 1 gram magnesium sulphate ● 0.5 gram micronutrients I need your suggestion please help me thanks
Such a simple, clear presentation!

I’ve been watching many hydroponics videos and this is the first one that took me from start to finish. Thank you!!
I agree
You are so cute
@@InspireByte2002 you are too and I'm guy
I agree except I was left wondering 2 things. Shouldn't the Keychain be rinsed before eating it? And will that same lettuce cup grow more lettuce?
You are very encouraging. I will immediately try to follow your instructions that were so clearly made. May God bless you to achieve your dream through this project. Hope to learn more from you. Thank you for sharing your time, your project, your experience and your intellect.
I’ve been looking for an easy hydroponics DIY, this was it! Thank you
Did you try it? It’s perfect weather where I live for lettuce🙂. It looks simple enough
Gainesville hydroponics grower here, glad to see IFAS doing some hydroponics videos!

Best video about hydroponic on TH-cam ever
Best hydroponics tutorial in history!
Hydroponic is really necessary for every family. Thank you for sharing your ideas about hydroponics.
I love the way how you explain this, I will try to do it
Use hydrated lime to bump up your pH and phosphoric acid to lower it. Don’t use vinegar.
why?
Very easy and simple presentation. Thanks for sharing the idea about hydrophonic.
This video is so simple and easy to follow. Thank you for making this, this would be my first grow hydroponic and I'm feeling confident! Just subscribed
I luv your tutoring. Very simple. Thanks Hannah!
This method looks quite simple when comparing with others

Thanks for this easy to follow instruction. I'll try to do it also.
Thank you so much for this video...excellent job explaining it fully. Can't wait to start!
Hi, i went through video. really you presented very fantastic manner, without any doubt about hydroponic culture, thank you keep it up
So relaxing! I had fun watching this video. Now I’m motivated to try and start a garden myself.

Thanks for this excellent video. Can you refill the bucket with the nutrient-rich water as and when the water level drops, or is this just a one-time thing?
My sister grate job, Thanks

@@FOATE so that big bucket she used might not be ideal if you harvest the whole plant then?
something smaller would probably work too
nice video thanks
could you tell me how to get the nutrients for the solution ?
Great presentation. So the nutrient solution does not need air pump for continuoys stirring and oxygenation?
Smart thing to do when drilling plastic like this, is to run the drill in reverse.
The best and simplest i like it
Good Video, Very Informative. Thanks
That root system was absolutely beautiful.
Great video!
The "set it and forget it method", better known as the "Kratky method". Very nice video though, will definitely share if anyone I know wants to get into hydroponics!
This fancy "set it and forget it" method is actually called "Kratky". Searching for Kratky will yield you much better search results.
Thanks for your beautiful explanation
well done good job keep it up..............
Good video, the Kratky method works great ! Is Dianne Wooten your momma, if so she's a very smart lady (knows her herbs well).
So this isn't Kratky because you did not leave room for air roots. Right? Also, you do not cover the top of the net pot with clay pebbles to keep algae from growing?
What is the humidity and temperature required to grow the lettuce successfully?
Thanks. Awesome video. Very simple and informative.
Lettuce is a cool growing crop so the best temperature is around 60-65 deg F. Above this it tends to bolt and taste bitter.
Good one Hanna!

Really super thankful to you
muy bonito tu video y muy bonita tu tambien y como le ases para oxigenar el agua en los botes? puedes decirme por favor? saludos desde mexico city
Vinegar is only a temporary PH solution. Best to purchase PH up or PH down. What about an EC measurement?
Set it and forget it lettuce
Lyrical genius
Wow, amazing, im a gardener also mam, i will try starting hydroponics now, thank u, its a big help,😊
Osam i got my answer... I Love your teaching style... Can we do same practice on fruit plant?
great video
Did you say what hydroponic nutrient solution you use? Or can you please recommend one? Thanks.
Great Video
Great Job!
🤗nice and simple🇿🇦
wow i should try this at home.. new subscriber here.
Cover it but not air tight with the lid. You need a corner lifted to get air flow
