I have a Spanish partner, it's cheaper for me to fly to Madrid and see her dentist than it is for me to go to a private here lol, much quicker too when I don't have to wait 2 months for a consultation appointment and then another month to actually be seen. You just make an appointment, go in and then have the work done. This country is a joke when it comes to public services, total scam.

Many of my uk friends come over to see me and access all their dental treatments whilst here . Even with flights and accommodation, they save huge amounts of money and receive private care. Why are dental services so expensive in the uk?

To Ed (and anyone else reading this) please dont leave your phone in your top pocket. It can cause arrythmia - happened to my Dad. The small print in a phone's legal disclaimer does warn of this, but it feels like nobody knows! Love the pod!
I found one study that stated this, but it was on a group of less than 200 people, measured changes that are well within the margin of error and according to said study, women are just immune, not to mention the phone being at belt level is worse? Plus they only noticed changes when it was actively ringing, which doesn’t make sense as phones are constantly emitting radio waves, suggesting it may be more that the surprise of the phone ringing briefly jolts the heart. I’d love to explain further but the paper was 3 pages and didn’t go into methodology anywhere close to enough even criticise it, that it got published at all is a nonsense. The other studies showed no statistically significant changes, even in people with heart conditions. The one aspect that may lead to issues is magnets near a pacemaker, which is a real concern, not unique to phones, but still best to avoid it, because it could potentially cause real issues. And to clarify, not calling you a liar or anything. There’s every chance I missed a better study, but the only papers I found didn’t show anything of the sort, and the only articles I found discussing it were from tabloids scaremongering, and about the potential interference with pacemakers. I’m sorry your dad had arrhythmia, can be really scary, hope he’s okay! TL;DR there’s nothing to worry about where you place your phone (unless you have a pacemaker where it *probably* won’t do any damage, but it’s best not to just in case)
A non-Jew who is employed to do things that Orthodox Jews are not permitted to do on Shabbat is called a “Shabbos goy”. An “eruv” is a piece of string around an area (there’s one in Golders Green too) which allows Orthodox Jews to carry things outside the home as that’s interpreted as working on the sabbath by some denominations. As such some Jews will also wear things like keys as necklaces as you aren’t carrying it if it’s jewellery. There’s some interesting loopholes Orthodox Jews use sometimes…
Having grown up in Leigh on sea, I think Anna Firth may be overselling the razor clam brexit industrial boom.
