UNDERSTANDING 1 Cor.13.8-11 KJV.
No more gifts other than LOVE ,FAITH and HOPE

Charity (LOVE) never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
[9]
For we know ( from the word KNOWLEDGE) in part, and we prophesy in part.
[10]
But when that which is perfect
(that is FULNESS OF CHRIST or The BIBLE) is come, then that which is in PART ; which are KNOWLEDGE and PROPHECY shall be done away.
Note that from verse 9, those that are in " part" are knowledge and prophecy and verse 10 affirms that they shall be done away or cease.

A) When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child:
Meaning:
Paul used "Spake" ,"Understood", "Thought" in verse 11 to represent the gifts. That's speaking in tongues, prophecy and knowledge.
So, BEFORE fulness of Christ came , or the complete Bible , the spiritual gifts
( tongues, prophecy ,knowledge ) were in full operation. In other words,the gifts operated fully in the Apostolic age or at the beginning period of christianity.
B) But when I became a man, I put away childish things:
Meaning: After fulness or completeness
( full knowledge of Christ which is complete in the Bible after the apostolic age ), the operations of the spiritual gifts which Paul referred to as childish things ; namely prophecy, tongues ,knowledge etc ended .
Now, only LOVE , FAITH AND HOPE remain ( 1 Cor 13:13)
Though, according to Joel, God will pour out His spirit upon all flesh in the last days which Peter confirmed its fulfilment in the book of Acts during the apostolic age.
But from Paul's writings to the Corinthians, he affirmed that these gifts which were in " part" as he termed it will end in operation.
One thing we have to agree is that it's difficult to understand Paul's writings concerning the gifts of the Spirit and their operations. Even ,Peter confirmed the diffulty in understanding Paul's writings which unlearned and unstable people misuse to their own destruction in 2 Peter 3:16.
The Bible verses below declares that especially prophecy is no more.
Hebrews 1:1-2
"In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets but in these last days through His Son ( WORD) "
2 Peter 2:1
"In the above verse by Peter, pay attention to the tenses used. Even as there WERE false prophets among the people ,so shall you have false teachers".
Luke 16:16-17
The law and the the prophets were until John.
Mathew 24:11
"Many false prophets will arise". Notice that no exception was made about the prophets.
