I like the idea of having diet preferences instead of traits, but I'm happy they added lactose intolerance because you can kind of make a vegan sim now if you combine vegetarian and lactose intolerant! Also, I wish they had let you have at least like 3 cows or maybe 2 cows and a Llama.
I love cottage living because there’s so much more to do. Canning, gardening, you have to cook everything yourself, it’s so nice. I spent 7 hours playing it yesterday, before that I rarely spent most of the day playing.
honestly the only thing I’m disappointed about is the traits and aspirations. I feel like there could have been more specific things. like best pie maker aspiration and expert gardener or something

True! When I saw we only has 2 new trait and one is lactose intolerance I was like "...huh?" and one inspiration 😭 Also I totally agree with the other that we should have diet or preference for that stuff instead of the trait ;-;
They could make a whole lifestyle section that has things that make sims be more representative of real people. Add dietary restrictions but also add in things like allergies and illnesses. That could even link into disabilities which would add some nice representation to the game too. I know some mods have traits that are for ADHD , ptsd and others but it would be nice to have a section devoted to that as well as physical disabilities or restrictions .

I love anything dairy so being lactose intolerant is a nightmare for me. I like the trait, I just dont like feeling attacked by it whenever I lay eyes on it
I'm lactose intolerant and I feel like I don't want it to be one of my main traits but I have to admit that it is probably one. But then I kinda understand why she said it about the Sims because there is so many more traits that you can pick which actually change or help your game.
YES. I AM LACTOSE AND GLUCOSE INTOLERANT, IMAGINE THE ABSOLUTE HELL WHEN MY FRIENDS WANT TO EAT OUT SOMEWHERE OR WHEN I HAVE COMPANY WHILE GROCERY SHOPPING. It is most definitely a very defining trait for me, unfortunately
The "lot challenges" idea really could and should have been integrated into Cas with diet restrictions/ preferences... especially with the vegetarian and lactose intolerance, maybe a gluten free idk
i love how this pack actually enhances general gameplay like seasons does!!! well, i guess just for my preferences since I’m obsessed with realistic food and cooking gameplay plus SO MANY NEW RECIPESSSS! and the way it expanded gameplay for kids too is beautiful. i cant wait to go virtual grocery shopping.
YES!!! I think a lot about how beeing vegetarian is a TRAIT on the sims 4, I'm vegetarian and I never made me being vegetarian because it's not a personality trait, it's just an option, and I really wish we had a separate option to pick our diet preferences.
@EVERY SINGER IS SO GOOD! LOL! you always say that whatever you tuber you’re commenting on is your inspiration and you always spam this. Stop, please, stop
Id like to see diet preferences where you could have vegetarian, lactose intolerant, spicy food, salty food, sweet tooth etc. That way if they eat their fave meal they are so happy but if they have to eat their hated food they get mad. Although i do like the interractions with the diets as traits like "evangiloze about vegetarian lifestyle" thats pretty funny to me
If you're on PC, I have a mod by Zero that puts Vegetarian and Dog/Cat Lover traits in the Reward traits category (costs 0, automatically given to those who had those traits already). Hopefully they'll also make Lactose Intolerant a reward trait once the pack comes out.
I NEED TO KNOW: will dogs and cats also have interactions with the chickens, cows, llamas?? Like imagine dogs rounding up the chickens back to their coop. Or dogs and cats fighting off foxes?
The devs said they had more preference updates coming since simmers really liked them.... right? I remember them saying it was just the start. So hopefully they will add more preferences like dietary and fashion/style and attraction. Also i would love having quirks like get famous but for normies. I think the quirks are so fun but i dont want my sims to be celebs in order to have them. Maybe we can get phobias like technophobia, hydrophobia, etc
I’m only 3 minutes into the video and already can’t wait to get my hands on this. As someone who LOVES the decades/historical type challenges, this give so much content to work with for CAS and game play. This is the first pack in a long time I’m legit excited about!
@@Squiddy21 There are plenty of examples of there being extra features if you own two certain packs. For example being able to use cats and dogs as familiars when playing with spellcasters. It's not the same as adding whole new things to the old pack, it's adding pack integration.
Just imagine having Seasons and this pack (I do and I am pretty exited) and having the different seasonal crops, and BEEHIVES, so you can be a bee keeper on a farm!
having a diet preference rather than a whole trait for your sims makes SO much sense and that's absolutely something they should consider: you could have no diet, be vegan/vegetarian, lactose intolerant, gluten free, sugar free, etc
I know your home life is going to be very busy around the time that this pack comes out, but I hope that you'll do another "look see" of all the various things that this pack will do with the *other* packs (especially the "lot challenges.") That's one of the frustrations with the "early access" is that you don't get to see how it works with the other packs.
I DEFINITELY agree about the food preferences being a separate thing!!! 3 traits isn't enough to add in food preferences/allergies! Sims already lack personality, so taking one of those spots to fart more when you drink milk isn't really enough for me. (Also, I'm lactose intolerant - I definitely know there's more to it than farting but still)
It isn't, just from a culture standpoint - they've set this pack in a Simified version of England, and homeschooling isn't much of a thing in the UK at all. What might have been nice though is if they included a second world so you could get a version of country living with a Simified Iowa for example. Then I feel like the homeschool thing would make a bit more sense
@@neilbiggs1353 that’s fair but I also don’t think people dress their chickens in hats or magically dye their cows and llamas rainbow colors to customize their milk and wool 😉 For real though, I am likening it more to an era where folks sustained their own land and food rather than had jobs outside of the home. In that sense having homeschooling would be ideal because the kids would be helping around the homestead and learning those hands on skills rather than leaving everyday.
@@Chet_Thornbushel To be fair to the sims team, they try to get cultural details right, while having fun with things they can make absurd. I would love it if they did a better sense of ethnicity for characters though, like if you made an NPC family of Korean or Nigerian heritage, the next generation would use names of that culture. This pack is really about that romanticised view of small towns that people move to to escape the rat race, though it would be interesting if at some point they did some packs about historical settings. Could you imagine playing a generation in the wild west, then descendents of theirs in prohibition, then a group ion the 60s...
I wish they'd redo traits similar to how they're redoing lot traits, so that way you could have a slot for good ones and "negative" or challenge ones, bc it's just so hard to want to pick the ones that don't do much like vegetarian
Kayla continuously using terms like " masculine and feminine sims". it means so much to me that she continuously makes the effort in these little everyday ways. it's not a one-off and it's normalized for her to phrase it in such a way. this may seem like I'm blowing up something small that isn't that deep. but constantly hearing others saying things like "womens clothing, girls wear this. for boys, women go through this" etc, its so nice to hear someone consistently caring and making the effort to have it phrased differently be so casual.
It looks like a lot of the swatches and colors are going to coordinate with a bunch of the other packs! I’m so excited. I think it’s going to be amazing
i like how they seperated lot challenges and lot traits. i think they should do something similar with aspirations, cause some of them feel like challenges/pack tutorials and some are more of long term lifetime wishes. also, would be cool if they added more reward traits, likes, club activities, whims, holiday traditions coresponding with the new pack. i hope they didn't forget about those.
This is everything I've always wanted and more! I am SO EXCITED!! I've never gotten a pack as it came out; I usually wait and buy them when they're on sale. I think we needed sheep’s, goats and pigs too, being able to have baby animals (I mean our cow can give milk without being pregnant?), also being able to place ONE BIG stall where like maybe 8 animals have space in it, more traits and aspirations (they could’ve added a aspiration to the animal category) and for the new world like 20 lots instead of only 12
@@daffy_an they do. Cows need to be or at least need to have been pregnant to produce milk. Of course as long as you continue to get the milk the cow will continue to produce and give milk even long after being pregnant but to even start producing milk they have to be pregnant
@@givhan5 it’s actually not. And I mean it’s a EXPANSION pack so it should have as much gameplay as possible. And a big enough world like Windenburg would be cool too. I mean this isn’t really too mich to ask for
I think the idea was that cats and dogs were focusing more on more COMMON pets people have but of course cottage living focuses on bigger and more exotic pets/animals people own like...yeah I have a pet chicken and I WISH it all came in one pack but I know not many people have in real life or want their sims to have pet chickens and might have thought it was irrelevant
@@leo9597 yeah but I like them devoting a pack more geared towards a few animals at a time so we can get actual GOOD game play with them, personally I hated the cats and dogs expansion pack, all they do is get sick with unrealistic illnesses all the time and are generally just a nuisance. i think maybe if they added lactose intolerant and vegetarian and stuff as a like and dislike it would be better! like your sims could like being vegetarian (meaning they’d be vegetarian) or they could hate lactose intolerance (meaning they wouldn’t be lactose intolerant) if that makes sense 😂
I think that could be their next step. But then I remember that infamous frozen yogurt or whatever thing with whoever that was when they got triggered by some dietary label. So. I personally would like allergies/preferences, but it might be triggering for somebody

@@preciousdunbar6240 try lactate tablets. They are amazing.
The "lot challenges" idea really could and should have been integrated into Cas with diet restrictions/ preferences... especially with the vegetarian and lactose intolerance, maybe a gluten free idk
yeah, they have jew and muslim items all throughout the game they could make an "avoid pork" and "kosher" diets too
@@Caio-sw7hh 1000% agreed
Carbs. I am diabetic and have to avoid carbs along with sugars. The sim could get hangry from low blood sugar or pass out.
Seriously! Dietary isssues are a serious part of some of our lives, but I wldnt say its our entire personalities so its this weird gray area.
@@kellysueballard7654 i think they wouldnt potrait illness in that way, its a sensitive topic, it could be explored by modder tho!!
i love how this pack actually enhances general gameplay like seasons does!!! well, i guess just for my preferences since I’m obsessed with realistic food and cooking gameplay plus SO MANY NEW RECIPESSSS! and the way it expanded gameplay for kids too is beautiful. i cant wait to go virtual grocery shopping.
The way the bunnies stomp their little feet before they attack is the most adorable thing ever.
When de rabbit thumped when he was angry i loved it. My bunny does that to when i anoy him and i see it like a cute detail
I think the sims team could of added some likes/dislikes, traits/aspirations. But I really love this pack.
Also when was the last time they added loads of traits in a new pack
Oh you already played it? How can you love something that you haven’t even played for yourself? Lmao

they added 2 traits and a new aspiration
@EVERY SINGER IS SO GOOD! LOL! liked it, good song 👍
@@banh_mi857 yeah i just report as spam
Id like to see diet preferences where you could have vegetarian, lactose intolerant, spicy food, salty food, sweet tooth etc. That way if they eat their fave meal they are so happy but if they have to eat their hated food they get mad. Although i do like the interractions with the diets as traits like "evangiloze about vegetarian lifestyle" thats pretty funny to me
If you're on PC, I have a mod by Zero that puts Vegetarian and Dog/Cat Lover traits in the Reward traits category (costs 0, automatically given to those who had those traits already). Hopefully they'll also make Lactose Intolerant a reward trait once the pack comes out.
i mean, i know some ppl whose vegetarianism is a trait hahahaha but indeed, i am and id never put it in my sim self
The fact that families can now cook together AND it’ll be on base game is probably the best news ever. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I NEED TO KNOW: will dogs and cats also have interactions with the chickens, cows, llamas?? Like imagine dogs rounding up the chickens back to their coop. Or dogs and cats fighting off foxes?
I honestly thought of my cat attacking my chickens and killing them 😭
yeah anf like dont they also have a domesticated fox in cats and dogs??
Usually, cats don't attack chicken, maybe only baby chick... I guess, at first, we won't have anything related together, BUT maybe in an update....
@@kali_tea imagine if they made us pay for having that update bruh 😭 yes that'll be £99.99
@@justacriminalin70countries49 I hope not either 😂
When she said “all the lots were built by simmers so they’re actually good” I busted out laughing; that’s hilarious
I wish I could like this more times!
They would have to rehaul the personality system bc so many of them are just likes/dislikes but god i wish
Homophobia
Nobody is talking about how the kids got out little stepstools so they could help cook and I’m honestly HERE for it ❤️
I feel like this with the magic pack would actually make for a more interesting spell casting storyline

You’re telling me chickens and bunnies can kill but the alligators can’t?! 😂
@Rytis Cyber because that's disgusting
@Rytis Cyber I don’t think ea would put it in the game tho
@Rytis Cyber you can trade the chickens for "meat" which is basically the same thing
Welcome to ts4
I’m only 3 minutes into the video and already can’t wait to get my hands on this. As someone who LOVES the decades/historical type challenges, this give so much content to work with for CAS and game play. This is the first pack in a long time I’m legit excited about!
Exactly, same for me! Even tho I'll probably wait for a sale, I'd feel bad spending so much money on a game and on myself haha 🌼🌿
Not related, but you're really pretty
I’m so glad Agnes can still abuse me with her handbag, it’s so nice to see the elderly keeping active
HAHAHA
I hope they add knitted animal clothes for nifty knitting for this pack, and you can use the Llama wool to make them for free/cheaper
They can't add stuff to Nifty knitting, if that's what you mean. It's an already released pack, it ain't gonna get updated.
@@Squiddy21 there is cross pack integration between other packs as well. Why not those?
@@TM-ng2bz I can't think of any example 🤔 I knew they said they won't add to packs already released.

(Also, I'm lactose intolerant - I definitely know there's more to it than farting but still)
This would have been such an ideal pack to add homeschooling into the game! I hope they do it someday.
THEY SHOULD, THANK YOU
It isn't, just from a culture standpoint - they've set this pack in a Simified version of England, and homeschooling isn't much of a thing in the UK at all. What might have been nice though is if they included a second world so you could get a version of country living with a Simified Iowa for example. Then I feel like the homeschool thing would make a bit more sense
@@neilbiggs1353 that’s fair but I also don’t think people dress their chickens in hats or magically dye their cows and llamas rainbow colors to customize their milk and wool 😉
For real though, I am likening it more to an era where folks sustained their own land and food rather than had jobs outside of the home.
Could you imagine playing a generation in the wild west, then descendents of theirs in prohibition, then a group ion the 60s...
this is gonna be the best pack ever I can feel it
“Nugget?! Oh. That’s dark” I burst out laughing 😂😂😂
I see an “errands” rags to riches in our future
I wish they'd redo traits similar to how they're redoing lot traits, so that way you could have a slot for good ones and "negative" or challenge ones, bc it's just so hard to want to pick the ones that don't do much like vegetarian
As a rabbit owning, jam making, llama mamma (we have 5) I feel seen.
As a chicken owner...I ALSO feel seen 😂😂😂 I've been waiting for this forever to have my little dinosaur in game 😭😭
Kayla continuously using terms like " masculine and feminine sims". it means so much to me that she continuously makes the effort in these little everyday ways. it's not a one-off and it's normalized for her to phrase it in such a way.
this may seem like I'm blowing up something small that isn't that deep. but constantly hearing others saying things like "womens clothing, girls wear this. for boys, women go through this" etc, its so nice to hear someone consistently caring and making the effort to have it phrased differently be so casual.
i know! it makes my feminine non binary heart so happy, especially since we don’t see non binary people represented in the sims at all.

i like how they seperated lot challenges and lot traits. i think they should do something similar with aspirations, cause some of them feel like challenges/pack tutorials and some are more of long term lifetime wishes.

can someone explain to me, why ea adds like a hundred new items, but most of them hidden behind a cheat?
A lot of the items are designed for the new world, not necessarily optimized for building (I guess.) Sometimes that feels warranted imo, but other times it's definitely odd.
A lot of times these items are not properly programmed, most of the time with debug items your sims will just ignore them and walk through them.
