At the JC Raulston arboretum (old zone 7B) they keep the papyrus(Cyperus alternifolius) in regular garden soil and say they are much more hardy that way. Love the channel/commitment to zone bending!
@@TheDj4088 thank you. I love the plant but I do not recommend putting it in a small pond. The roots take over. This year I kept one big one in a flower pot in the pond and that worked much better than the one you see in the waterfall. Thank you for watching
Didn't know they can survive our winters in ground , will try one next season, my palm boxes would be excellent for them ,they are stunning and beautiful if I do it would be a red one red is my favorite color if you haven't noticed in my garden 🤗🤗♥️🌹🇺🇸🙏🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴 Many Blessings Jose'
Hello. There is a very hardy variety that was bred in Mèze in southern France. It should withstand temperatures down to -9 degrees. It's called "Bougainvillea violet de Meze". Greetings from Switzerland.
Beautiful garden ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!

@@mirco4924 thank you! I am going to search for that variety. I hope it’s available here. That would be fantastic
you might trim it back more since they bloom on new wood
Thank you. I will do that
