I have been working with epoxy resin for a while now, and have become quite good at casting resin with different types of wood, i wanted to take it a step further and found your channel. I just completed my first wire wrapping project yesterday, and it came out superb. Thank you, and i am looking forward to learning more from your tutorials.

I just finished this one. Oh my gosh I love it. On one side I was in a happy mood , alas, on the other I got a little mad about something that was happening in my life and it isn’t as pretty. Now I will tell the person that will be looking at this and say” I name this one Moody because you wear it on the good side when you are happy. Turn to the other side when you are in a bad mood.

You are a 'learning in progress' wire wrapper. You are right to leave in your learning experiences too. Half round is for wrapping square wire. Its GOOD that you let us all see how wobbly the mixture came out. Keep wrapping and posting. We're out here watching!😃

Yvonne, thank you for your patience and constant encouragement! I don't mind whenever you have to start over: it gives me inspiration and I love that you don't pretend to be perfect. You're human and make mistakes, and figure things out along the way.
I've been following your channel for years and you're such a peaceful person. Your videos soothe and teach at the same time.
Again, thank you! Keep creating ✨

I absolutely LOVE your videos, Yvonne! On THIS tutorial you said, "and this is how messes are made . . ." I nearly fell over, laughing! 7:42 As an artist myself (so I know this first hand) and having owned an art gallery for over 30 yrs (my husband & I represented over 100 artists from 1980 => 2011+), I know that cleaning-up a "mess" is waaaaaay too linear a process for a brain that has been pressing against the left side of your head for possibly days, to actually accomplish!! We might still have the place if I hadn't developed 3 chronic pain diseases, but I make the most out of each day that I have. When I can coordinate my medications, I sometimes have 2 or 3 hours I can work with wire, stones, gem beads, regular beads small or large, past sentimental bits and bobs or found objects to make jewelry. I'm nowhere near coming close to your talent but I keep going when I can & it's nice to sell a piece of jewelry or a painting in order to support my habit. ( 54:30 - BRILLIANT!!)
@8^D But my FAVORITE thing, which also helps me out of the pain, is watching you demonstrate your jewelry making process on youtube! It's the kindness shining through your voice & words, your gentle reassurance that, YES, we CAN do it - to just be slow & patient with ourselves - - - - - - thank you.

Inlove this… thank you for doing it in real time.. I just watched a couple of someone else’s videos and they do a little then go into turbo mode… and I found that it was almost impossible to learn anything! Inlove the weaving and the round wires
, it is so pretty! I hope you do more and more videos to help us evolve this and other pieces… I’m just learning, but you are the best teacher… I’ll say it again… I want to be like you when I grow up! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌷🌷🌷

Watching all the way into January 2022, I love your heart to share the "how tos" of wire wrapping, Thank You, again!
just a thought, if the half round had been a smaller gauge perhaps it would've worked out. I've only just started using shaped wire so any thoughts I have are not tested for sure. Keep doing what you're doing, Yvonne, you're such an encourager!

  • @diansirkin4062

Thank you! My first attempt was pretty sloppy, and I used wire I had (a mix of silver and copper). I did use 1/2 round silver for wrapping. Also, I caged a tumbled stone which was odd shaped so it made it a bit more difficult. All in all, I love the techinique and now I know what to do with all those tumbled stones. And, I got another useful item to add to my many, many tools (Thing-a Ma-Jig.) Your video was really easy to follow, too.

Love all your videos!! Supremely talented!! I have to tell ya, I have been playing with wire wrapping and small things of this nature for years and this video just reminded me of this craft kit when I was a kid in 197?? Lol , it seriously was pretty much the same idea except it was with this type of paper and you could make earrings and necklaces ,! I can’t believe I just thought of that. Also when you began making the design with the square pliers they looked to me like spiders !! Before you curled it. And yes I bet if someone didn’t have that tool for making the shape of the cage round you could use a mortar and pestle !!! I have a marble one

Oh, Vonnie - I am interested in making RINGS with a cage for a rough stone, with multiple wires and maybe a string of channel set sparklies, eventually. I think I mentioned to you that I bought a ring like that 30 years ago from an artist in Los Angeles. It was gold colored flat wire and a pretty pretty rough rose quartz stone. This method may be able to be adapted to that idea? What do you think?

Hello Yvonne I really liked the way this comes out and I actually have an order for a bubbly heart shaped glass bead to be wrapped...I thought about doing this kind of cage around but the girl doesn't want big gage wire... and since it's a round bubbly heart...I'm not sure about the top part..how to finish up the top part of the cage....any clues!??
