Advice: You are learning the Egyptian dialect and not the Standard Arabic language. You should tell your teacher that you want to learn the Standard Arabic language because there is a huge difference between the Standard Arabic language and the Arabic dialects.

As an Arab I'm more than happy that people are interested in learning Arabic. To those who are struggling, don't give up, God willing you'll get there one day.
Arabic is such a wonderful language,I fell in love since I was a toddler since I passed most of my life going on vacation in Arabic countries but unfortunately my country don't have any kind of agreement with any of them so we don't have courses bides of university courses which I cannot attend now due to the fact that I'm already studying for my graduation
Same wrabee it's a verey good feeling to see others learning our language, especially that it's verey hard to foreigners but ppl still likes it😭well it's verey funny to see how others trying to speak with our accent-or language- but they struggle with the ق (qaf) and خ (kha)and even some times with the ح (ha-i guess💀-)😭😭💀

I had the exact same problem in my language study. I would get inspired to learn a language, find so many resources, teachers, textbooks, and flashcards, and then I would lose motivation. I started learning so many languages - Chinese, Korean, french, Spanish, Russian - but I was never able to stay consistent for more than a month. It has never occurred to me that it could be so easy. Wish me luck on my Chinese journey!

As for writing, I think writing a journal is great idea! Thank you! I like to make grocery shopping lists and notes too, basically try and use the language for mundane daily tasks. Surround with the language everywhere possible when you're nowhere near the native speakers of the language

I write down my dreams in the language I’m trying to learn! It’s a very fun way to engage with a language and I tend to forget my dreams so it also motivates me to keep a dream diary 😅

I did the exact same to learn English, my purpose was to not study a bit, only by listen music, watching friends (of course) and Disney movies in English (that I knew by memory so I matched the words to understand). I took me 10 years, it has been so much fun ❤ and I understand everything. Now I'm studying Japanese in English, recently took JLPT N5 and passed :3

As an Arab, colloquials arabic are obnoxious, ugly and extremely provocative. For me personally, they are the dialects of ignorant, illiterate, and rude people who love to harm others ( Sadists and Masochists ).
Those dialects are full of obscenity and impoliteness, and their voices are harsh and rude. No noble, educated person with high morals likes those dialects. We, as Arabs, classify those dialects as ( Vulgar / Rude speech ). Even when I want to know the meaning of a particular word in the arabic dialect, I return it to its STANDARD ORIGIN ( The Arabic Standard Language is pretty, quite, polite, scientific, poetic and systematic ). So dialects are useless. It is always known that Standard is easier than colloquial.

This is exactly how I learned Japanese. I love this whole part where you start imitating at 7:06, almost like a toddler lol You look so joyful. such a natural way to learn. Just having fun with listening, and when something sticks out you, you just grab it and play with it! Was going to start learning a new language, but it's been about 15 years since I grew comfortable in Japanese, so I'm pretty intimidated starting from 0.. Even though I always tell my friends if they just immerse with minimal study languages basically learn themselves for you.. This video reaaaally inspires me and reminds me of the mindset I need to approach my new language with. Thank you.. subbed! TEAM LAZY!!!

Reading out loud has helped me so much with Mandarin! Great advice! I was thinking of writing a journal in Mandarin instead of just typing. Handwriting for some reason does more!

As a "relaxing" person I really appreciate it. I struggle a lot to dive into the languages that I'm learning every day, witch is English and French, the french is more easy to me because I'm a Portuguese speaker, but yeah, the beginning is the most difficult part. As an Egyptian I got surprised that you're learning Egyptian Arabic and that you wrote your journal in franco (Arabic written in English) that's actually really good for easily expressing what you want to say in the beginning! Did your teacher suggest it?
You may know it but franco is used even by Egyptians themselves talking to each other (but some people don't like it)
As an native Arabic speaker (not Egyptian) I found the franco text is hard to understand 100% , and I don't use it or know anyone close use it too.
I don't said that no one can understand you if you use it, but it will take while to try to read it correctly _for people who don't get used to read the franco-arabic _
Maybe after your level getting better, you might like to write with the real Arabic alphabet (◍•ᴗ•◍).

Um I want to tell you that I myself don't like using franco it really doesn't make sense to me (when Arabic people use it) cus I can't even read it as fast as I read Arabic written in Arabic and it's annoying. I saw many Egyptians like me even my friends so we don't use it either..
But yes I liked the idea of using it in the beginning of learning Arabic

I did a HUGE improvement on English when I was 10 - 14, which exact period when I went deep into fanfiction. I actually can't remember if I ever sat down to study english. All I did was check out a bit of grammar from school and enjoy the fandom angst I was too embarassed to read in my mother language

the journal tips is definitely the best that made me improve a lot, also i mostly learn vocabulary from hearing pronunciation (idk why i can’t learn without the sound), repeating is also the key

I think this is not even a lazy way of learning a language but one of the best! Started learning Hungarian a bit over a year ago and really sat down, studied vocab and grammar and it was so hard and I could not speak at all, i didnt understand a word. So I stopped and picked up later by watching videos, just as you, and I started talking to natives. That all. Ever since I have not studied one word or learned any grammar but I am conversational (to an extend, depends on the topic) all thanks to.. well.. immersion without actual studying. Thank you for sharing this!❤

i looove the way you explain and i also relate so much to your way of studying! i'm indonesian, but i'm a moslem and grown up in a religious family, so arabic feels familiar to me. Just from listening to The Qur'an (our religion's holy scripture which is in Arabic) and Hadits (The Prophet's sayings, also in arabic) every day since i can hear, learning how to read it without even understand any single word, and listen to islamic lectures more often than others around me, i didn't even realize i'm studying so much; always get perfect score in arabic class at school and can guess 90% of what a sentence means at the first time i hear it. i'm happy that you learning arabic, it makes me want to study it again! similar things happened when i start to watch videos in english and watch anime daily. familiarity to a language is really making you study without realizing it - and it's "relaxing"😆

I totally agree with your Motto! When learning new things I often watch too many videos on how people start and for apps or resources and I often NEVER use them and my motivation does out of the window
"Less is more" applies to anything you want to learn, from programming to languages. I hope I can apply this to learning Japanese and Coding better, since I am still very new and when I want to study or learn I just get tired very quickly

Thank you for your tips. I'm Brazilian and I study Korean, English, and now I am studying Japanese too. Studying Japanese is difficult for me because I find it hard to retain the information in my brain. I find it easier to study English and Korean than Japanese.
Part of this is that Japanese is just insanely difficult, in my opinion it's the overall hardest language to learn
One thing I've been trying out to start a language is just exclusively focusing on listening for the first few hundred hours - using something like Pimsleur, or if they are available, some beginner YT videos who do good comprehensible input starter videos. A key thing is to get the sounds in your head early. I'd love to say it works, but I haven't done enough yet to be able to compare. But I do think there is a good logic behind just focusing on the sounds of the language early before trying to push to conversations. But your technique looks really good too.

Thanks for this video! I’m learning a few languages and right now I’m trying to get my Thai to a decent level. I’m extremely lazy so how I’ve learned to catch words or basic conversations is by watching shows and finding a scene I like and learning the expression and emotion, tone, intonation of what they are saying and why it’s being said. I repeat words out loud as well. I also talk to myself in my head. If I speak out loud I say “I want a coffee right now.” Then I repeat it in Thai but only the words I know. Then I research what the words are that I missed. Now I’ve caught myself automatically thinking in other languages and saying expressions out loud without realizing it. It’s a fun journey!

@@erenyeager1987hi, yea i have a few books i use, i have an arabic teacher who provides me with books n stuff.
to be honest you can probably learn it without a teacher tho. online books and arabic teaching channels are available.
having a teacher definitely helps but if u have a friend who speaks arabic that works too, just to communicate and have fun speaking the language with them and confirming if you’re saying the word or sentence correctly

I liked that you really love learning languages, for me I always dreamed of speaking many languages, nowadays I tried to focus on improving my English first, but I feel I'm stuck in the same level, so my passion is not that much and I don't have the motivation.
Furthermore, I can understand Japanese because of the Anime but I haven't been serious YET to learn it.
But as you said, it has to be fun, you don't force yourself to do it, it has to be "you want to do it".

I'm also learning a New Language and it's Korean. I Read it loud and while I read it I scribble with my dominant Hand on a Paper. That helps me to memorize it while saying it and when I see the syllables and scribble I also kinda memorize how to write them

Wow your Japanese pronunciation is so good. Great video. Make more lol. I think your video is full of great advice. This is coming from someone who never did any planning when it came to learning many different languages. You got me beat cause I used to study about an hour a week(hey that rhymes) I often think that I am saving money learning or I like to think I am because I don't want to spend a lot but I calculated I am course to being proficient in Thai in about 20 years for about 16000USD🤣

Your French is not bad, honestly I met a lot of foreigners here and they dont always have understandable accent. Yours is understanable. I think the problem is the flow... I dont know if what I say will help you but, in french when an accent is difficult to follow we say " an accent to be cut with a knife" and it is a little bit the vibe with your accent, it doesnt have the flow of french, like you separate every word. I think it is because you make good effort to pronounce every word, and probably, if you'd live in France, after couple of months, this problem will disappear as you'll be used to this flow... interestingly enough arabic as the same difficulty as words can be connected together for more fluidity (like les amoureux = lézamoureux and in levantine arabic حبيبة قلبي = habibet'albi )
