2 additional notes on this trick (at least for VH+ difficulty): - If you plan to sell 10+ turns, doing this on the 2nd turn of the game instead of the 1st turn usually allows you to demand ~twice the amount you can get on turn 1. This is because the AI has less money in reserve on turn 1 than they are actually willing to pay. - I don't recommend cancelling repeatedly as they will pay less money per turn of access if you do this. It will also impact your diplomatic relations. (On VH+ difficulty, they usually won't pay anything afterwards if I cancel their access prematurely, or if we're on friendly terms they might pay something but it's significantly less than what they would otherwise pay)
Cancelling and reselling will net you more money overall in a shorter time. And the diplomatic penalty barely matters; the AI cares only about your power rating in determining whether it should go to war. If you're Mighty or Terrifying you can dishonor treaties with impunity.
To add to your points, as chosokabe, I found out that on the first turn I got more money from 10 turn access than 5, but 20 and indefinite didn't chance the figure. On the next turn, 20 turns access did increase the price, but indefinite did not. A turn later, indefinite gave more money. I declared war on the Sogo as the myoshi was moving in to their territory and possibly already defeated their armies. Before declaring war, they didn't want to give me anything. Just declaring war made them willing to be my vassal, trade agreement, military alliance and pay me (nearly?) all their cash. I decided to also join their war against myoshi so I could get out of all my treaties with them without penalty. Only myoshi was upset, but they got crushed anyways so who cares. I also found that cancelling access reduces what they're willing to pay significantly
I've given up going for trade nodes. On legendary I'm constantly at war with someone and the AI will always have more ships. I just grab myself Metsukes + very high taxes and that's enough to pull 5-7K.
My favorite is getting my daimyo to 9 honor and then looting with impunity. Loot -> let rebels take over -> take province back and not deal with increased unrest.
@@dishonorable_daimyo1498 Does it really work that easy? Can you do it from the start of a game? I'm thinking of starting a very hard vanilla game as Takeda 🐎
In my Tokugawa campaign, I asked for a trade agreement with the Chosokabe. I managed to extort 15k out of their clan treasury. Their attitude towards me was hostile btw.
I was using a unit card mod and extended camera mini mod, I don't use these anymore. I try out some music and cosmetic stuff from time to time but nothing that affects the balance.

I legit came across this by accident in a Shimazu campaign, got those trade ports going real quick lol

@@dishonorable_daimyo1498 Agreed. I never go full navy anyway. It's hard enough to keep up with the military arms race on land.

"We have strategy at home."
Strategy at home:
And suddenly he got attacked from many fronts...😅
That's what the koku is for ;)
This is my favourite "feature" in this game. I once managed to sold 20 turns military access for 13k.

@@dishonorable_daimyo1498 let's add the extra experience your units might obtain
During the tutorial I sold an alliance for 10k. I didn’t even think to ask for more.
Apart from the honour loss..
I'm giving permanent access to everyone for 2000-3000 at the first turn. Use it to build a huge army, then crush them with it. STONK
Or just sell 20 turns for 4k to a one province faction that'll die next turn lol

@@Joe_Friday very easy, it works as long as they have a direct border with you. And most of the time they'll never actually use it.

thx for this man the dishonorable thing didn't matter come realm divide lol
I earned my dishonor.
Doesn't cancelling the access agreement damage your honor/reputation though?
It gives you negative diplomatic points but they all end up hating you anyway and the money now is more than worth it
Sweet, now I can get into Total War >:)
theyve been keeping this from you this whole time
you should work on the federal reserve
legit big money man
What mod are you using?
in this i was using a unit card mod (i forget the name), purely cosmetic, which I don't use anymore
Art of the deal *EZ Clap*
haha it took me a couple of years to find this "feature"!
BTW which mods are you using?
I was using a unit card mod and extended camera mini mod, I don't use these anymore. I try out some music and cosmetic stuff from time to time but nothing that affects the balance.
@@dishonorable_daimyo1498 thanks
Bunu bir türkün bulmuş olmasını beklerdim.. hayal kırıklığına uğradım..
i just set up tons of trade routes and i get 10000 a turn
Looting and selling access will make you way much more money, especially on Legendary where your routes will be raided and ports blockaded constantly.
oh...... FREE MONEY LET GO
Won't you lose 1 honour for breaking it before 5 turns have passed?
nop
okay i always do that ahaha xD
Lol that is easy mode😂
Too dishonor
Shameful display!! 😂
Yeah but then the game isnt fun. Of course you can exploit and have fun. But cheating it is not going to make you happy.
that's scrub mentality. Not going to waste my time creating self-contrived challenge based on some "gamer honor" system.

Stonks
What a load of crap waste of time
huh, but this trick is kinda important on legendary
