Bought my E30 325i in ‘08 for cheap. Finished my S54 swap last spring and boy is it worth the time, effort and money. Your build is brilliant and clean. Nicely done!
There's so much nostalgia behind this car and its owner. It's good to see him come through from all the nitty gritty with this, whatever it might have been. It sounds quite deep.
Awesome car, a friend of mine still has one, with rollcage and full Warsteiner DTM 90's sticker trim on it. In white of course. Fun fact, you can always quickly tell if it is a real E30 M3 by noticing the front wheels, they should stand to the back in the wheel arches. M3's have an offset wheel axis. Normal E30 doesn't have that.
At about 11:26 I actually prefer a fixed back seat even in a road car… with proper modern mounting you can get the angle just right and to me they are sooo comfy I can just sit in one for a road side nap at a rest stop lol.
Yup I’m 37 and remember those 2002-2008 years when you could get one and for “cheap”… I almost picked up one in 2008 for $12k… just couldn’t pull together the full $12k in time :/
I've owned 2 of them. I will say back in the day more than half of them were tracked and run very hard. To me it was a better track car than road car with the high revving buzzy S-14.
An ultimate e30 M3 has a 4 cilinder engine. Anyone hanging a 6 or 8 cillinder engine in this car doesn’t understand the concept of the e30 M3. It messes up the balance of the car, these are made to go really fast on a circuit and corners like nothing else. Now it go’s really fast in a straight line. Although that seems to be the thing in the USA, going really fast in a straight line. Otherwise it looks really nice except for the racing mirrors. Stock looks way more better.
That’s true only to an extent. The ones near me and the ones we are building have extra weight reduction and with a fuel cell and such in the rear with according downforce you can bring the weight down and balance the weight pretty close. And they are faster around out tracks than fully built and stripped s14 cars
The s54 e30s you typically see have the engine smacked in and that’s it. Which is perfect for the street. Super fun and it’s an e30 it still corners well. The dtm cars were s14 running high compression at 9,100rpm redline and had to be rebuilt after every race. Fully stripped cars, roll cages, stiffened chasis and suspension they were a different breed. Definitely one of the best cars ever
@@OaklandHudec why are you trying to convince me with some weight reductions here and there you are going to be fine? I think you are trying to convince yourself. First of all you can't do weight reduction on the engine. The engine is not only more heavy it's also two cylinders longer placing the weight over the front wheels which messes up the balance of the car. Shure it will still be a nice car to drive but it won't do what it is was meant to do so well. Out corner and outbreak the competition. You know back in the day that the M3 e30 had the least power compared to the competition and yet they won. That was because of the balance of the car. There is enough film media to find when you see them on the track. Amazing to watch. There is also a recent track movie. An e30 M3 with a 200hp honda engine (I guess the owner didn't have the cash to restore the s14 which I can understand) but nevertheless the weight balance is kept in place. And the car is really unbeatable on the Nürnberg ring. The same driver is later in a m3 e30 but than with an 2jz with a massive turbo more than a 1000hp. The car is fast in a straight line but in corners it is al over the place. BMW M division chose to use a 4 cylinder not because they had to, but they found out that the car was faster on the track with a 4 cylinder. And they pretty much knew what they where doing. They where the best engineers you could find.
@@OaklandHudec by the way I am not criticizing the build quality of your swap. You did do a beautiful job. I am just debating what an e30 M3 should be. If it would have been any other e30 I would have praised you did.

Fantastic E30 build, I truly appreciate the long term builds.🔥🔥🔥
Seeing a TH-camr in your back yard like this is cool. Literally filming in my old neighborhood. Also DOPE E30 🤙🏼
Thats a beautiful m3,love the seats. the e30 m3 deserves a s54.

Love this build. Purple startecs are rare! Great coverage.
So nice the white with the black looks so nice and the wheels look good too good job and keep up the good work 👏
This thing is a Machine!!!!
Great build. Wouldn’t a Z3 M Roadster diff bolt in? May be tough to find one but would be a pretty nice solution.
Cool owner, nice story, thks 👍
How does one get around fitting that motor and the drive shaft?

Some cars get no love, but this car got all the love! Great build and enjoy the ride!
Only the brand of the seats isn't fitting. They should be Recaro's or Sparco seats. For the rest this car is nicely build up.
What transmission is in there unless I missed it. 5 or 6 speed?
e30- The Icon!
That spreadsheet is bursting I’m sure
S14 getting stolen is crazy 🫠
Good M3's are these days worth a 100000 or so.

Bro freaking sick car! ❤it! So beautiful!
CLEAN. ❤
That is one bad automobile!🤟🤘🤙
s54 and Seamaster is good combination 🙂
did you sell yours?
The 17s on e36s statement triggered me 🤣. I cannnntttt do 17s on my e36s I always do 18s.
Too big 😅
E36 can get away with 18’s. But I understand the OEM look
Unique is not a word id use for the most common engine swap into the e30
Show us your unique build then.
Dream car !!
Should’ve kept yours
I’m jealous

Fucking awesome!!!
Sorry, but that is a pretty badass flex...an actual "M" car and NO BADGING!!
I think about how much these used to go for and it makes me sick thinking about it.
😍😍😍👍👍👍👍
