One thing I have to say. Bobby expressed that “girls” want/need the cuddles and attention and then later spoke about his inability to go and do things for the sake of the other person bc he simply just doesn’t want to. GOD I loved how honest Bobby seems to be (SEEMS to be) about his life. The fact that he so often will admit his own failures, and deeply displeasing parts of his life makes me more likely to believe him when he speaks about a good aspect of his life.

There comes a point in many people's lives, where they hit a fork in the road: One road has them doing all kinds of things, making all kinds of compromises, to make another person happy. The other road leads to them doing whatever they want to do, and if someone wants to come along for the ride, sure...but if no one comes along for the ride, that's cool too. It's important to understand that neither route is 100% right, and neither is 100% wrong. Some people are simply happier alone and/or living for their own happiness. Other people need constant companionship through life.

I found myself miserable in relationships because i always wanted to do what i wanted to do, and got annoyed by having to spend energy on shit i didn't care about with my girl. But Bobby doesn't seem to fully understand his selfishness. Support for a woman (or partner or friend) is not just giving them money for their hobby or passions. It is sharing their hobbies even if its just talking about it. Being a part of that hobby in some shape or form other than monetary. But Bobby just explains how he supports by giving money.

Spending time on things you didn't care about with your girl; Bobby having said the same thing I think this is a little odd because I feel there should be common interests shared, and that a couple should be doing those things together instead of forcing interest in other areas.
The problem is simple, traditional roles are no longer a thing. 3-4 years in you would normally be married and have a child or maybe even two. Why is it getting boring? Because you're not following the path we were designed to follow. Bobby should know just from AA that his normal instincts are what get him in trouble and never result in him being better off or happy. They lead to him being drunk or high and doing stupid stuff. I met Bobby Lee when he wasn't famous at The Comedy Store in LA and he was so cool and nice to me. I told him I knew 100% he was going to make it. I ran into him 15 years later and he remembered me! He was still just as nice and we had a great talk. Great guy and I have so much respect for how honest he is. Zero bullshit. He doesn't lie. Used to date a girl we'd go to a beautiful park, were on the bench eating lunch together like movie-esc and she'd go "So what are we doing today?" and I'm like "Babe this is it, right now." like this is living to me, this is nice. She was a party girl, unless at a bar/concert/party/vacationing every 2 weeks then we weren't 'doing' something. We broke up.

She’s European, and constantly flip-flops on whether she’s going to stay in the states or leave depending on her mood. We stay in bed for hours on the weekend, until I eventually have to kick ourselves out and make sure we’re doing something, otherwise it feels like a waste. Throughout our entire relationship, I’ve always been the one to initiate texting/calling/planning because she’s just so aloof, loves nothing more than just spontaneously spending a day staring out at a skyline or up at the sky for hours while disregarding any real-life duties or experiences. And this will be the end of our relationship - mark my words. Don’t get me wrong, I love those slow, stop the world and melt with you moments. But I also love the stimulating parts of life. We recently went on vacation together - the whole week she wanted to stay on the beach. I wanted to see stuff and work in time for the beach as we went along. It’s hard being with someone who has their head in the clouds 24/7, because eventually you end up getting pulled away from the ground.

However, when I’m not working, I want to do what I want to do. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. GOD I loved how honest Bobby seems to be (SEEMS to be) about his life. The fact that he so often will admit his own failures, and deeply displeasing parts of his life makes me more likely to believe him when he speaks about a good aspect of his life.

I've not followed him for years and only checked up on the news now but this is how I've known him since. I don't think he wants help right now other than the therapy sessions he's already getting.
I met Bobby Lee when he wasn't famous at The Comedy Store in LA and he was so cool and nice to me. I told him I knew 100% he was going to make it. I ran into him 15 years later and he remembered me! He was still just as nice and we had a great talk. Great guy and I have so much respect for how honest he is. Zero bullshit. He doesn't lie. You're the best Bobby and thank you for adding so much laughter to my life.

Bobby lies all the time, what are you talking about? He admits on every podcast that he lies constantly. He takes other people's stories and pretends it happened to him, he always embellishes or heavily exaggerates for comedic effect. He's always bullshitting and he would have no problem admitting that. I actually worked on acceptance and forgiveness (of myself and others,) and at 34, I am actually happy now! 🥰

Used to date a girl we'd go to a beautiful park, were on the bench eating lunch together like movie-esc and she'd go "So what are we doing today?" and I'm like "Babe this is it, right now." like this is living to me, this is nice. She was a party girl, unless at a bar/concert/party/vacationing every 2 weeks then we weren't 'doing' something. We broke up.
And she used to date a guy that was too low energy for her and enjoyed a different pace of living and leisure. They broke up.

I resonate with your girlfriend, because my girlfriend and I are the same right now. My girlfriend is a lovely, lovely person. But her go-with-the-flow personality is just too much for me to handle. She’s European, and constantly flip-flops on whether she’s going to stay in the states or leave depending on her mood. We stay in bed for hours on the weekend, until I eventually have to kick ourselves out and make sure we’re doing something, otherwise it feels like a waste. Throughout our entire relationship, I’ve always been the one to initiate texting/calling/planning because she’s just so aloof, loves nothing more than just spontaneously spending a day staring out at a skyline or up at the sky for hours while disregarding any real-life duties or experiences.
And this will be the end of our relationship - mark my words. Don’t get me wrong, I love those slow, stop the world and melt with you moments. But I also love the stimulating parts of life. We recently went on vacation together - the whole week she wanted to stay on the beach. I wanted to see stuff and work in time for the beach as we went along. It’s hard being with someone who has their head in the clouds 24/7, because eventually you end up getting pulled away from the ground.

I think you are oversimplifying why it’s happening. I don’t think it’s about growing up at all, at least in my case it isn’t. I have a good, successful career which I do sacrifice for. However, when I’m not working, I want to do what I want to do. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If I don’t have to, I shouldn’t have to force myself to be unhappy for a majority of my life. And right now, at 25, unless it was the right type of person, I wouldn’t want to be in a relationship. I don’t want to have to worry about a significant others feelings, wants, needs, both emotionally and physically. I am at least self aware enough to realize that right now I’m not interested in that. However, saying that’s because people don’t want to grow up is asinine.

I was thinking the same Porn isn't a good thing to be watching all the time. It distorts your reality of what is normal and healthy in a relationship. Video games aren't much different, yes I'm a video game fan but playing them all the time is just another addiction and if your partner isn't into it then they are going to be annoyed. Been there done that, and moved on. Some guys will lose themselves in these vices to escape other parts of their lives and maybe hide something they are going through mentally.
