    I haven't been weirded out THAT MUCH in a long time. I like it :D
    PS: I am really sorry for the heavy editing, but I had to upload this video several times with different edits since YT kept taking it down. I try to tone it down in the future, but in the end, YT makes the final call.

    A love hotel is not actually a brothel in Japan, it's an actual hotel/motel that you can book hourly that is (primarily) there for couples to be able to hook up in private. It's relatively common in Japan because a lot of people either live with their families for quite long or have super limiting living situations.

    When Momo says “is there only scum left in this world” she was directing that at the kids bullying not at Ken, but I get that a lot of people misunderstand and think she is being mean to him in that moment

      @@Sadako-T-Vthanks for the reply! it’s a bit more clear in the manga, but yes she’s annoyed that the boys are bullying but then back down when she gets involved. That’s not to say she’s a perfect angel in that situation, of course she wants to protect Ken from being bullied but also a big part of it is she’s angry she got dumped and just wants to start a bit of chaos and let out some stress. I think it’s a pretty interesting way to layer her morality/nobility with her own personal interests, which in Ken’s case happened to overlap in his favor

    Momo's friend with the makeup is wearing Gyaru style makeup, which is a fashion trend that is popular off-and-on in Japan. It's meant to be over-the-top and gaudy.

      Specifically the style of makeup is called "ganguro", which is a sub-set of the larger "gyaru" or "gal" fashion and style trend/subculture.
      Technically all three of those girls, including Momo, would be considered to be gyarus, or "gals" ("gyaru" is a Japanese transliteration of the English word "gal"). The style/subculture focuses on imitating what is considered more Western, and specifically American, looks and styles: showy clothes, bleached or dyed hair, lots of makeup, tanned skin, often times animal print motifs, etc. Momo fits the gyaru aesthetic because of her focus on fashion (note that she is wearing different clothes that the standard school uniform, as well as her large earings), her use of makeup, and her more assertive and outwardly unconcerned attitude compared to Japanese norms for school girls (aka more Western/American).

      Ganguro gal is a kind of counterculture against the fashion that makes white skin the standard of beauty. It became popular among high school students around 2000
      In East Asia, white skin has been the standard of beauty since ancient times

    Love the reaction and so excited to see more to follow! Really feels like there's surprising moments around each corner in this show. One of the important messages of "Dandadan" is that you can't know the true nature of d just by looking at its surface. From the very beginning, the episode appeals to viewers that what meets the eye is not everything. "Dandadan" is a story in which the protagonists, together with anime fans, search for the truth hidden in its strange appearance. Each episode features crazy betrayals that exceed the viewer's imagination, and the accumulation of small details that are easily overlooked evokes a sense of exhilaration and understanding in the viewer. And, the desire to break down preconceived notions and stereotypes and empathize with other ways of being is the final abracadabra that everyone hopes. The culture of Otaku, who were once treated as weirdos and hated, has now gained global citizenship by donning cute and humorous clothing, and perhaps it has sublimated into a story that is understood and even empathized with by the general public. Congratulations!

    • @Sadako-T-V
      @Sadako-T-V  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Totally agree with you! One of the coolest things about Dandadan is how it flips expectations on their head. It’s so good at showing that there’s always more going on beneath the surface, whether it’s the characters, the plot, or even the world it’s building. Those wild twists and little details you mentioned? That’s what keeps it so fresh and fun to watch - like, you never know what’s coming next, but when it hits, everything just clicks.
      And yeah, the way it challenges stereotypes and embraces different perspectives is such a big part of its charm. It feels like a love letter to the otaku culture, showing how far it’s come and how it’s now something everyone can enjoy and connect with, not just the hardcore fans. That’s such a win for storytelling and inclusivity. Honestly, Dandadan just nails that balance between crazy fun and meaningful messages.
      Here’s to more shows like this breaking boundaries and making us rethink the way we see things! 👏

    Don't think this anime's creator is crazy, and we're all crazy because we like this anime :D Everything here has a perfectly logical explanation :D First of all, this anime contains elements of parody, perhaps not as much as in One Punch Man, but they are there, and parody in anime implies grotesque, absurdity, and mocking various clichés. Secondly, the author didn't make anything up here, all the crazy stories are based on real urban legends, both the turbo granny and the aliens, so don't think the author is crazy. The first episodes may be shocking for an unprepared viewer, and many might stop watching, but this anime later provides many emotions and touching moments, so I advise not to drop it :)

    • @Sadako-T-V
      @Sadako-T-V  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I totally get where you're coming from! Honestly, I'm all for creepy and weird stuff-that's part of what makes this anime so engaging. You're right, though-there's definitely a method to the madness here. The parody and absurdity are intentional, and it’s fun to see how it plays with urban legends and clichés in such a unique way.
      I think the "shock factor" in the early episodes is just part of the charm, setting the stage for deeper emotions and unexpected connections later on (I saw some of them already. Watched episodes 5 and 6 today and I AM LOVING IT). I’m not dropping this for sure-it’s way too fascinating, and I love how it keeps me guessing while embracing the bizarre. 😄
