  • This video is about Humpback Suspension - How to fit
Built and designed in Australia to suit Australian conditions, it is the toughest trailer suspension currently available on the market. This beefed up suspension uses 100 x 13 mm spring steel bar, steel bushes and is suitable for 40, 45 or 50mm axles. Super easy to fit, so that a home handyman can take on the task making it a inexpensive option for trailer upgrades.
Humpback trailer suspension is suitable for a range of new trailers and retro fits including: boat trailers, yacht trailers, bobcats and forklift trailers, caravans and horse floats. You can use it for low ride or off-road and easily convert it to a tilt or tipping tray. The load sharing capabilities and the swing and travel that we get out of this suspension far exceeds anything else that is out there.

Any chance of measure of over all aspects of main leaf spring thanks as it all adds up to tyre size next video thanks

They are taking a while to get to market. The home page has for some time only said soon.

Well the music is nice and all but it was louder than your voice so maybe you could edit that down a little bit or something so we can actually hear what you Gotta say far as the suspension goes looks pretty cool but once again we have the U bolts holding all the weight so can you put the axles under the spring so the axles are carrying the load instead of the u bolts

Typically I’d agree with the u bolt issue but I’ve had a flip kit on my truck for about 10k miles now and haven’t had any issues. Even towing it’s been perfectly fine. Definitely not ideal but like I said I haven’t had any issues.

Why is it not ideal for towing?Did it tend to sway or rock?

@@dlighbreex.y8215 no, no issues on that front and honestly the springs had plenty of support as they were the factory leafs. The issue is that when the leaf is on top of the axle the u bolts only located the axle to the leafs whereas when the leaf is under the axle the I bolts are put in constant tension and must be strong enough to carry the weight of the vehicle and what ever you’re carrying. Definitely not as safe as a spring over setup for that reason alone. Also being that the truck was lowered it touched the bump stops a couple of times.

@@brycea0225 I have recently spoken to the proprietor(Peter),and he has since changed the springs to 90 mm wide, but still half inch thick.Instead of 4 holes each end,he says he now does a small(8mm) hole as a locator, for a clamp or bracket to contain the axle.Haven't seen what he means, but I figure he would make that bracket pretty strong. The other perhaps issue,is the rock(forward and back).Have you put it to a good test in that regards?.Also,at the moment, with covid etc,the spring company he was using, had to pay a lot of money getting the units safety approved. So have put it in the too hard basket for now.Atypical these days.Hard to get anything done,as the so called safety experts are more concerned about protecting their asses, than letting progress advance

I don't see the advantages of these springs. It looks incredibly stiff. The two shackles don't provide the traditional job of a shackle. How does this system weight transfer between axles?

      Indeed!!! 🤔🤔🤔
The geometry doesn't make any sense, unless spring material is highly specific...

Try look at how it rides,on other videos.Looks like it shares the load good, and as far as ability to use as a simple tipper,on a tandem, looks second to none.If they could show more videos of performance on rough terrain, might be more convincing then
