Wow...and I like what Keesha said to Alan, too. Good acting here, all around! I do wish they'd kept Keesha on. She was one of the few reasonable characters on the show back then, and one who didn't lie like crazy for her own benefit.

I disagree. She was fine before the accident, but afterwards she became judgmental and whiny.

Travoice Marshall No, that started while Jason was still in the hospital. She never seemed to realize that Jason had changed.. She reacted to Jason like she did not realize he had lost his memory. She would breeze into his room and prattle on about things and people he did not recognize.
Then when he was less than enthusiastic, she would get her feelings hurt. And she could not accept that Jason did not love her anymore because he did not know her any longer.
She saw him outside Luke’s and told him the Ward House had burned down. When he did not seem to get upset, she screamed at him that he did not care about anything, that he did not want to care.
Who would say that to someone who had lost what Jason had lost?
She was so cruel to him, it made me cringe.
It was too bad she did not hear him say to Robin with longing, “I wish I could remember what it was like to love someone.”
She was very judgmental toward Ned, Jason, AJ and Alan. But it is a lot easier to make judgments in hindsight than when you are in the midst of a crisis.
And she did not handle things any better than the rest of them when it came to AJ.
They had been dealing with it for years, but she bailed pretty damn fast after just a few days.

I agree. She was a nice person overall without an agenda and didn't go around using people for her own benefit.

She was a good character, but after Jason’s accident, they did not write her very kindly. Her scenes were actually better with more of a range than just being Jason’s goody two shoes girlfriend. But she became very unlike able and her character just kind of faded away.

    • @beegee1960
      @beegee1960 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Travoice Marshall Really hard to say. Some fans think it was the racial thing, but that does not ring true to me. I think it was more the character thing.
Before the accident, Keisha and Jason were the perfect match. Both were very nice people. They were honorable and always tried to do the right thing.
But after Jason became Jason Morgan, they were no longer compatible,. He didn’t remember her and she could not understand him.
And really, could you ever see Keisha as the girlfriend of a mobster? She was too upstanding for that.
She did not have Robin’s background, a background that enabled Robin to understand and tolerate Jason’s life.
They kept her on for a couple of years, but they never seemed to find a niche for he.
For a time it seemed she would make it with AJ. But they were determined to write AJ as an incorrigible drunk, something her character would not tolerate.
,,And they really never convinced me as a couple. It seemed to me that she was using him as a substitute for Jason, but found him sadly lacking.
And he always wanted her, because he always wanted whatever Jason had.
But once he had her, he did not seem to value her as he should have, maybe because once Jason no longer wanted her, he lost interest.
She became very bitter and judgemental and then whiny and pathetic. I don’t remember any one big thing that ended her run on GH. it was more as I said before that she just faded away.
She was collateral damage from the Jason Quartermaine to Jason Morgan storyline. Keisha was a pleasant but not a, very strong character in own right. Her interest came from being in a relationship with Jason. Split her and Jason up, and there just wasn’t enough of her character left to Survive.
But the writers did not write her well. It was like they just couldn’t figure out what to do with her once she was no longerpaired with Jason.

@@beegee1960 I don't think the writers didn't have the ability to write Keesha better I think they didn't care to. Which honestly even though it led to her being written off it was better than what happened to her cousin Justus. He went from an upstanding civil rights lawyer and city council member to a mob lawyer and then killed off. Talk about character assassination. But I do miss Keesha alot

    • @beegee1960
      @beegee1960 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

ctanks oh, I don’t think it had anything to do with the writers ability. As I said, they just seemed to lose interest in her character.
A lot of people have had their characters’ mangled. Look at Jason, from a brilliant, morally upstanding, future doctor to a brain damaged mob enforcer. From being the family favorite to complete estrangement. From always doing the right thing to not blinking an eye at murder. Just collateral damage.

@Travoice Marshall the head writer at the time allegedly was obsessed with Godfather and then The Sopranos and turned GH into Sopranos-lite. Unfortunately killing of legacy characters and fan favorites to give angst to sonny and jason without actually doing damage to sonny and jason

So I just saw the clip and thought it was great! I really like Keesha. She seems to be the only rational person in this scene and I thought she handled the AJ/Ned fighting well. "Ned, you're not helping." She's really pretty too.

The exception being Angie & Jessie whom they JUST brought back, and Neil and them on Y&R...and when they do get in a relationship *not often* it's almost always an interracial one which is koo, BUT can we see an all black/latino family too?

You know AJ could have stood up to Ned the night of the accident or any day since.
He could have gone to the authorities and told the truth.
Ned could not force AJ to keep quiet. AJ was a grown man.
He could have stepped up and taken responsibility for what he did.
Let’s face it, AJ did it to protect his own ass. He did not want to go to prison.
He stood by and let Ned take the blame, then acted all indignant, like he was mistreated.
He makes me sick. Yeah, Ned was a jerk, but not half the jerk AJ was.
At least Ned’s motives were to protect AJ and the family. He took the blame on himself and put himself in a very uncomfortable position.
Perhaps not the best decision, but. certainty not a selfish one. He admitted later that he was wrong. He should have let AJ face the consequences of his actions.
He especially regretted lying to Jason.
AJ accepted Ned’s protection, but then his guilt over what he had done to Jason got to be too much for him to handle and he started drinking again.
So in typical AJ fashion, he blamed his drinking on Ned, saying it was the lies that were causing him to drink.
If it was the lies, he could have told the truth at any time. It was not the lies, it was the guilt. But if he accepts that, he would have to accept that it was his own fault.

He was always jealous of their relationship, he always inserted himself in between them. He gets a the accident, causes Jason’s brain damage which eventually leads Jason to breakup with Keisha. AJ lies about being responsible so Keisha doesn’t hate him. Then he gets what he always wanted, to get involved with Keisha.
To answer the question, no Robin didn’t steal from Keisha. Robin was able to do what Keisha couldn’t, which was be able view the new Jason, Jason Morgan, as his own person. Just what kind of family is worth protecting if they have someone like Edward at the helm? Edward who is super selfish and will stoop to blackmailing or bullying just to protect the family name, and who got friendly with a sociopath like Carly?? In my opinion, in this scene AJ is too good for someone like Ned.

    • @beegee1960
      @beegee1960 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Of course it was not just the Quartermaine family Ned was protecting. He was specifically protecting AJ. People condemn Ned for lying to protect the family but they seem to forget what would have happened to AJ if he had not lied. Ned could not force AJ to go along with the lie, that was his choice.
And people forget what Ned took on himself to protect AJ. He accepted the blame for what AJ did. And with it, scorn from Keisha and scathing remarks from Edward. It would definitely been easier for Ned to not protect AJ. Which if he had been smart he would have done. Sorry, but I have more sympathy for Ned than AJ.
And Keisha has a lot nerve walking into a situation she knows nothing about and acting like she knows all the answers. And attacking Alan out of the blue was so far out of line it boggles the mind. All she has so far is AJ’s side of the story. She didn’t even ask Alan to explain, she just went straight into attack mode. Blah!
But I find it interesting that in the coming months, she was not able to help AJ any better than the rest of them and when AJ did not immediately straighten up, what did she do? She bailed on him, pretty much leaving him to sink or swim on his own. You know, tough love. That was what Alan was doing only after trying everything for years. It only took her a few months. I don’t really blame her. I would have hated to see her waste her life on him. I just find it ironic.

@@beegee1960 You made some points. But either way, I never liked the way Ned was often scornful of AJ. I think Ned should have just moved out of the Quartermaine house and married Lois. The constant friction between him and AJ were not good for either of them. AJ had really made some real progress when he'd moved out on his own.. only to have Carly ruin it when she set him up and made him think he'd started drinking again. AJ should have moved right back into his apartment and away from Ned and Ned's predictable criticism.

Lies always come out, but the Q's never learn that lesson (even after Dorman). Ned began THIS lying saga when he covered up who was driving, and while both Ned and Alan's concern for Monica and what she'd been through was understandable, it wasn't a legit excuse for rejecting AJ. Alan got off his high horse after crawling through the gutters of Cordtland St. (AJ wasn't very kind to him then). I always felt bad for aj. Imo opinion he became an alcoholic bc of his parents fighting all the time & alan clearly favoring jason over aj. Ghost Alan made amends with aj telling his he was a lousy father. He said " I couldnt forgive u for not being jason" he did tell aj he was wrong & that he loved him very much. It's sad he didnt tell aj more often that he loved him. So knowing alan felt that way it was rather obvious & that kind of favoritism where one sibling cant do anything wrong & aj def felt alan loved jason more which sadly he did. That kind of favoritism makes the child on the outs have horrible self esteem. This aj was a good guy & a sweetheart. He was an addict & was looking for someone to believe in him. When aj rented the apt next door to tony & carly he should have stayed out of that toxic house where he was treated like crap by edward alan & ned. I think Tracey & ned had a problem with aj bc he was the son in elq that carried the q name. Before the accident jason wanted no part of elq bc he admired his parents so much he wanted to be a dr just like them. I always wondered why alan favored jason & I think 2 reasons. Alan thought aj was Rick webber's son so for a little while he resented his own child. I think it was never repaired. Secondly I was watching the susan Moore storyline when she died & alan had to fight really hard for jason to be loved by monica. To appease monica jason was living at the gate house with heather & jimmy lee holt. Alan had enough & said " hes my son he is my responsibility. I think he looked at this little boy having no mom anymore & had sympathy for him. I mean Monica literally hated little Jason that she called him " it" & said jason was not good enough to sit at alan jrs table & eat lunch with him . So he saw jason as the underdog & monica spoiling aj. Plus Jason was the baby of their nuclear family & the baby sometimes gets favored. And it could be that sometimes a parent just feels a little closer & more loving towards one child over the other. The irony was the one person that always supported aj & stuck up for him was jason q. So I think it broke aj that not only did his drinking hurt his brother badly when jason got ejected from the car & became literally a different person he lost his best friend.

If you don’t get it, then you need to go back to the very beginning, and watch AJ’s video’s. People like to say AJ went. down after the accident, but he was like that years before the accident. Ned had been dragging his ass out of trouble for years. He used every excuse to drink and blame other people.
      .
While on one hand, he adored Jason, on the other, he often treated him abominationally insulting and snide remarks,
It was not hard to see why Jason was universally loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He almost always did the right thing. But even when he didn’t, like with Karen and Jagger, he eventually realized his error and made it right.
AJ constantly screwed up because of laziness, carelessness, or because he never listened to advice. He was just irresponsible. He never took responsibility for his actions. And he always blamed someone else when things went wrong. He seemed to hold Jason responsible for his screwed up life.

The Wards were a nice addition to the show, shame the writers lost interest in them rather quickly.

Kiesha has a nerve everyone told her about AJ and his problems, but nooo she was going to save him after her Jason kicked her to the curb! Go Alan tell her the truth!!

Whew! Way to go, AJ, for telling Ned off! I usually like Ned, but his big self-righteous attitude here regarding the reasons he lied to everyone in this story line of how Jason got hurt because AJ was drunk was getting really hard to take! Being drunk and helping cause Jason's accident was wrong, of course, but I'm glad AJ finally put Ned in his place. And he was right about all he said about Ned and how he lost Lois.

No he was not right about Ned And Lois. Lois left because of the Quartermaines. She still loved Ned. He was not repugnant to her. That is ridiculous.

Can't stray too far away from the original character, things wouldn't be as interesting then.

Alan really reads Jason wrong. He couldn’t care less about bad press for himself. He would care for Monica, Lila, and Emily.
Kesha blasted Alan for not helping AJ though he had been dealing with it for years. But it did not take her long to bail.

I know ur comment is a year old but I just want to respond with my thoughts. It kind of sucks what they did to Keesha’s character. They really tried to make her whiny, unlikeable & clueless. If you think about it it’s really sad she not only lost everything there was no place for her anymore so they just had to write her out.

    • @beegee1960

Nanu Baby You’re right. Her character was so closely tied to Jason that when they split there. was not enough left of Keisha’s character to carry her.
There never seemed to be any reason for Keisha to be there except to be Jason’s girlfriend. She needed more of a purpose.
And then they tried to make her AJ’s girlfriend, but that just seemed contrived It was too bad they could not find something for Keisha, besides being someone’s girlfriend. She could have been an asset.
I think they should have carried through with her dream to be a cop. The dynamics oh her going after Jason as a criminal, could have been interesting.

@@beegee1960 You are sooooo right! There was nothing left of Keesha’s character after Jason Q was gone. And it never seemed right to me that they paired her with AJ afterwards. And your idea of her following through with being a cop then going after Jason is brilliant! 😃 That would’ve been great! They totally screwed Keesha’s character!

She was the same way about AJ’s drinking before the accident. Jason Q would tell her exactly the way AJ would act and he would look for enablers to feed his pity party because Jason Q had been through it. But she wouldn’t listen to Jason Q and would always look at him with disapproval when he would show AJ some tough love. She played right into AJ’s hands and covered up for him when she knew he was drinking.
And here she is thinking she knows better than Alan when he’s been through many times with AJ. She’s doing the same as AJ, everything is always someone else’s fault for AJ failing his sobriety.

I disliked Kesha in this scene. What selfish thing she says after AJ’s confession. He didn’t tell HER . Not you kept it a secret from nearly everyone, not you did not go to the authorities, not you let Ned take the blame, but you did not tell ME. Then she come up with how it is her fault. She makes it about HER.
