First off being a first round pick don’t come with any expectations because the team that’s picking is trash. To put expectations on a player when the team is bad is stupid and is why I hate sports media in general. He was never going to be an elite scorer. That wasn’t why he was drafted. It’s a lot of guys that don’t average 19 plus points a game in their careers that are drafted. They bust? A bust to me is someone who just flat out flamed out. Jamarcus Russell. He’s a bust. Straight up bust. Ryan Leaf. Bust. Kwame Brown. No. 13 years in the NBA? He did what he was signed to do it did it well enough to earn 13 years of NBA salary and a pension. Now that I explained my stance. SAS is full of shit.
If you get drafted in the first round, that comes with expectation. That means that the coaches and the scouts saw something in you. You have to live up to those expectations. 12 years in the league doesn't matter, not everyone in any professional sports league can be great, sometimes you just need a spot filled.
