I love Janet and yes there's no other in my opinion however she needs a new designer. Her wardrobe choices are awful!!! There is absolutely nothing flattering about this choice and it does not lend itself to the choreography. And yes once again Janet is the number one Diva in my opinion.
1) to make up for cancelling shows so much during her previous tours and fixing her reputation there and 2) Making LOTS of money for upcoming future projects from her label “Rhythm Nation” (possibly a new album and world tour in 2020???)

Janet has always been a entertainer not a performer, there is a difference.. she’s gotten by with a crowd that adores her. She’s more of a whisper then a singer but it works for her. I think she good at some degree, but I wouldn’t spend a dime going to one of her concert.
I love janet--that being said--she regurgitates the same dance moves -albeit they are iconic--she has done the "if" routine since its release in every live perfomance--her new single has nothing "new" in it--same old janet dance song----I don't mean to bring Madonna into it but once janet shaded Madonna questioning her relevance--well miss janet--Madonna changes and reinvents herself--reworking old hits----etc etc----you wear flannel and regurgitate same mixes and same choreography--yes you are still awesome at 53--perhaps try something new for 54
She started changing routines and mixing in new moves for "If" and "All for You" but people started bitching about her doing it. The fans are never satisfied. She introduced newer songs and older album cuts and people complained about that. I just don't think she cares at this point. Hey Janet never really gave a shit about criticism anyway. As far as Madonna, that's all smoke in mirrors. Shes doing the same thing she did 30 years ago just different outfits and stages. She tries to stay trendy guarentee you if Janet did that the "fans" would bitch about that too

While you bring up Madonna, she tries to stay relevant too, but at least she is still being cutting edge. While her latest album is not dance song packed, it really is a masterpiece. I had to remove all of the Janet from my computer except for the old stuff, b/c I always push skip when it comes on.

If you're going to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the most iconic album of your career, maybe get into better shape, wear something nicer than flannel and jeans, and not just recycle pieces of your Vegas show (which recycled pieces of your previous tour....which recycled and recycled.....). She just keeps phoning it in and from a further and further phone line. Either give your fans something new and different or stay home and count your ex-husband's prenup settlement money.

It's the 30th anniversary celebration of Rhythm Nation and she showed up in a flannel shirt and jeans and looking like she hasn't worked out in a year. I'm not as willing as you to make excuses for her total lack of effort.
Yeah, was thinking the same thing about her attire. Not a big fan of her stage costumes, but I do enjoy her concerts when I see her live. When the industry blacklisted her for several years, she was doing smaller venues, but her performances were tight and the outfits were on point. This is when I enjoyed her shows the most, except for the all for you tour, which she slayed! The reason Janet is filling up seats today, is because the industry is supporting her again, like they're doing for other pop stars, like Britney, Beyonce, JLo Madonna, Etc... at the end of the day it's all a game and it's all about fame and money. I choose Janet over the rest of these Divas because I truly believe she genuinely appreciate and love her fans. I don't get this feeling from the others.

What I don't care for is that she's been recycling medleys, set lists, and even set pieces from prior tours. The "Number Ones" tour was just a scaled down "RockWitchu" tour with the same set pieces. This Rhythm Nation celebration tour is borrowing set pieces from her Vegas show. The final 20 minutes of this show is exactly what she did in Vegas. I don't need her to do 10 costume changes and be elaborate, but she can at least look she didn't just roll out of bed. Her work depends as much on the visual as it does the sound, and she's projecting an image of "I don't care. You'd show up anyway, so this is what you get."
