This makes me think I want a legit Yu-Gi-Oh game in VR. Playing cards and seeing the monsters come to life in the room around you!
Exactly the first thing I thought of after seeing this VR setup, who needs an arena when you can put on some glasses and see it anyway.
That would be EPIC, I’ve dreamt of something like that since watching the movie back in the day
Great idea for sure. Been saying this for a long time with pokemon. I freaking love my VR but it seems so limited to its options
That might legitimately get me to buy ve

A perfect instance of ‘I don’t like a particular game type but I can recognize quality a mile away’. I’m not a huge fan of tactics/strategy games, but if I was I’d be all over this one.
The answer is yes, now no one should get salty about that.
Those who have played it might understand.
Triangle Strategy is my favorite tactical strategy JRPG and is 200% worth it! Every single cent. The story of this game alone is PEAK Cinema!
Some parts of the story legitimately felt like an episode of the early seasons of Game of Thrones, peak storytelling with compelling characters.
I’m so sold gonna get this tonight!
@@DJJoeySantos If you like tactical JRPG's and you like deep complex stories with deep characters, betreyals, medieval political discussions and so on you will definitely enjoy this game. The art direction and music is also top notch and even the voice acting is amazing, well above most other JRPG English voice acting, definitely worth playing in English.
shut up
I really enjoyed it. Got a good ending, too. Lent it to a friend ( switch version )
A game where choices actually matter- take note BioWare.
My only issue with Triangle Strategy is how the companion stories tend to be info dumped at weird moments all at once during the story. They could have been more spread apart imo.
Oof
I want mainline Front Mission on VR/AR platform!
Even though this game has it's issues, the story is undeniably amazing.

This could have just been a tactics game, but they gave it a story that would make an amazing movie or book. But even then, it's more impactful as a video game because YOUR CHOICES shape the world. And the endings... man. The way you end up disagreeing with one of your friends to the point of ONE LEAVING?!?! I was super attached to Roland, but I ended up with Benedict's ending. To have Roland become so disillusioned, fight Serenoa, and then leave was an emotional gut punch. And the option of the golden route was awesome. I love that Avlora changed sides and Dragan's dad got involved. And Maxwell was an awesome character too. Even the side characters are developed! Overall this game deserves wayyyy more publicity. The chances are low, but I'm hoping for a Triangle Strategy 2, kinda like what they did with Bravely Default.
Triangle Strategy is a gem! I loved my time with this game. It’s not perfect, but it is so charming with meaningful choices.
I'll answer that question.
Yes. Yes it is
Dude triangle strategy is such a good game, first thing to scratch my final fantasy tactics itch ever.
I have to admit, When I heard this was coming to VR it made me want to play thru it again.
I'm not generally a JRPG/Tactical RPG guy but this one actually does have me intrigued. Looks like it would be a very cool experience on Quest. I'll probably still wait for a sale, but will likely end up grabbing it eventually.
I wish they also made it that you could pick up the units and placed them down like chess pieces or something.
So far it's the only of Square Enix's HD-2D games that really clicked for me. I still have to finish the golden route and check out the extra content
I need this on Steam! I downloaded the Switch demo having never played a strategy game like Fire Emblem or FFVII: Tactics. I ended up playing more than 120 hours to get all the endings and maxing out every character.
Triangle Strategy is incredible. I hope it goes to xbox, pc, and PlayStation so even more can play. Cool it has VR version
Already have the pc version. Though not in pcvr
I was so excited to play this when it first came out but unfortunately being colour blind I can’t tell the difference between the blue and purple tiles. Horrible choice and no accessibility options.
Yes and yellow and green tiles, like come on they are the same to me 😂
Do Japanese games have less of an accessibility standard, or is it just this game?
@@kaopin14Yes very much so. Japan as a society has historically looked down on any form of disability
You know you can turn on color blind mode on the quest in the settings menu. I do it sometimes for shooters.
@@jarydfye3909 That's a good feature to have, but I was just talking about the launch version of this game on the Nintendo Switch
I'm addicted to this game on vr
Triangle Strategy is one of the best games of the last few years, BUT only if you get the real full ending, and especially if you do it after seeing all the other ones. If you don't it can go from anything between "ok" to "really good" depending on the player.
truly one of the greatest tactical rpgs of the modern era. happy to see others liked it as much as i did!
This video couldnt have come at a better time. Bought a Q3 this week and been thinking of grabbing this!
It's a nice chillout game to settle down with in vr and so much more immersive to get into. It would be incredible if they could bring ff7/8 and 9 over to be experienced like this. Take my money!
You are the first person I've encountered who has also had reoccurring vestibular migraines.
If you want to push your tactics to the limit go for the golden path your first run.
I did a nearly complete playthrough (Frederica route) and really didn't enjoy it, thought everyone felt weak and half the cast felt useless. Not usually a fan of TBS games where you can't fully make your own characters. But I may give it a shot again.
If you're into stories with consequences? Yes.
It is indeed!
Its not my favorite game in this genre, but its still worth a buy if you like these kinds of RPGs as its still great.
Triangle strategy is great though I think the scales of convictions mechanic should be tweaked a bit on the sequel
Hey Matty, I'd love to see you cover more rockstar stuff also! With GTA 6 set to come out soon, I think it would be awesome just to see your thoughts on previous titles and where you think we're headed. I know you cover alot already, but man, I think Rockstar is right up your alley also!
You the man Matty!
Cover Visions pf Mana sometime Matty. Another underrated Square Enix RPG. Combat in that one is excellent.
Hey Matty, I was wondering if you plan to bring some attention to Obsidian's Avowed in regards to their absurd pricing. The game is currently 85$ or more, even in countries with much lower income than USA. There seems to be a lot of discourse on lack of language support, Arabic in particular. All that in addition to the 30fps fiasco.
YES
i play this in bed, i find this type of game or any 3rd person. game can be enhanced. by spacial 3d. It feels like magic to me
I wish this game could come to xbox and playstation
And now hopefully it comes to steam
Looks pretty interesting but when I finally get to play this game I'll do it in the standard way (Not that I have a VR set anyway haha).
Matty i had a dream that I met you recently
Hell yeah was hoping youd see this port.
Completely forgot this game came out 😅
I wish they gave this game with the Quest 3 instead of Batman. I love the normal Batman games but the VR one is not doing it for me.
Have you played drova?
If anyone is on the fence... John at get the game
TRAILS MENTION LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
Absolutely
You should try unicorn overlord
Triangle Strategy could be the best game ever. But I literally clicked next for 30 minutes straight and didn't get to the next battle. It sucked.
another great VR game not coming to PSVR 2, like ffs, why do I even have this thing
I did 2 playthrus of this game. IMO, it is not that good. But it's a far cry from bad. A bit wordy. Slower paced. But beautiful game.
You know I have this and I only put like 1 hour into it. They don't really like it that much
Look where we are at. Resorting to mobile games to quench our thirst for lack of actual next gen games
This is a triple A retro game brother, its Square Enix’s pixel RPG studio. They do HD-2D remakes, Vagrant Story, Octopath Traveller 1 & 2, Dragon Quest 3 Remake etc, Final Fantasy projects as well. They port them to mobile but most games are these days if the tech allows it.
I think they also did the DS Final Fantash games, the Crystal trilogy or something?
@ bro this is a mobile game. It’s definitely not what I bought a 5-600 dollar next gen console for. This can be played on a iphone. I understand there is a group of people that like these, but I wish we could get some actual games that push the consoles before this
@@AP90x
Almost everything on the PS5 can be played on a modern phone
Playing it on Quest 3s and am enjoying it but I hate that it won't let me decided to not give up Roland. Giving him up isn't the choice I wanna make and that makes me not wont to play it anymore 😞
Wait I thought you didn’t have to give him up? Or am I remembering it wrong ?
Yes it is! ❤
That is neat
Sorry, Matty.
Triangle Strategy will never hold a triangle to Tactics Ogre. Even VR can't fix that.
Tactics Ogre >>>>>>>>>>> other SRPGS.
I enjoy your content but I also feel like you should've led with the acknowledgement that Meta sponsored this video, rather than left it to the very end.
He says at the 1:15 mark that Meta sponsors the video
@@jasonlovejoy9398 Fair play.
Is the writing bad, though? Genuine question.
What about Stalker 2 ?
When I first heard of Triangle Strategy I was hoping: all the harder difficulties were unlocked from the start (with permadeath), once a difficulty was chosen it couldn't be changed, and there was a post game multiplayer battle mode. My last completed tactics game was Fire Emblem Fates Conquest for the 3DS, so I wanted this new title to be an innovation of that style of tactics game (with less game manipulation).
Triangle Strategy looks like a good game, but I can't justify putting hundreds of hours into a game just to experience alternate endings. In FEFC I sunk 500+ hours TWICE and have the bragging rights to claim I: completed it on the hardest difficulty, none of my characters died (deathless run), most of my characters have strong stats, and I have collected all the rare items from the story campaign (harder difficulty, better item drops) to have an edge in the multiplayer battle mode.
I don't think Triangle strategy is enjoyable for competitive RPG players, but I could see it being nice to play in VR for casual players. Respectfully, If I had a VR setup I would only play games that would utilize the hardware I paid so much for (standing up actively moving around, opposed to sitting down looking at a 3D board game).
Nah it’s an anime art style. Therefore it’s automatically trash
Leggo
I think its cool - but how wordy and long the scenes are, kinda puts me off
LFGR
Its bad, i did not finish, the story and characters are just way to juvenile to take seriously which really killed my interests.
Omg no! This game is awful it's like 20 minutes of the most bland voice acting and dialogue between the most uninspired encounter design
For the love of God don't play this game
nahhh trash game
Sponsored bs.
Earning money from Meta might be nice😂
Been gaming since NES and flatscreen gaming decency ends in PS2 era, never care about prettier graphic and overpriced AAA with barely any contents. Bought a Quest 2 for few years and that what revived my interest in gaming better than any of today's ancient flatscreen device.
Prettier graphic and real time non interactive cutscene isn't a decent game in my honest opinion that can't even compete with a 20 year old games in gameplay and contents no matter how much you paid for dlc and extra contents.
