The mediterranean freshwater species would be ideal for an indoor unheated aquarium rather than our own native freshwater fish that suffer in an aquarium especially in a summer heatwave, it's a shame very few temperate fish are available in the aquarium trade a native mediterranean setup would be amazing! 👍
They are beautiful and very important, thanks for taking the time to film them.
I was also going to say a chub / minnow hybrid! Gorgeous fish!
Awesome video as always.
Well done fella .
Another very interesting video, well done Jack, Thanks for sharing.
@@stevehodges4092 cheers Steve great to meet you!
"No darling, there aren't even any fish in Rhodes, honestly..." 😜
Well done Jack, these are the kind of videos that I would like to be making, lack of time & funds being the main hindrance to my endeavours!! I do have a few ideas floating around that may be of interest to you, I’ll be in touch 👍
@@pauladams6802 I try to keep them a bit different !
Another fantastic video Jack
Superb 👍🏼🎣🍻👊🏼
@@mattgoodchild8215 cheers Matt
Corfu has great wildlife. I saw snakes, lizards, turtles. Even saw a Pine Martin. Also has more standing water than other Greek islands
@@AjAttmere sounds perfect
the creek almost looks similar to some creeks in the dry season in north queensland Australia, the pink flowers on the bushes growing along the creek are really something
@@limeybonesjones7395 it was a very pretty spot
We have lots of them in syria, some people eat it as a snack.
I caught one as a kid and kept it for a year even tho it was missing an eye, true survivor
Are you sure is the same species ?.
Small chub/minnow was exactly what I was thinking. Great video
We have riffle dace here in Italy which look quite similar, but they're nowhere close to being that endangered luckily.
Im confused by the concept of a "family holiday". Even on my Honeymoon I was off looking for lizards and Blue Chaffinch lol
Good to see the 'aquarium' working well :)
worked a treat mate!
Almeria Spain, apparently has a species of killifish
@@mrslinkydragon9910 there are lots of endemics in Spain some very weird fish
@Chasingscalesspecieshunt weird plants too!
You might want to check out northern Italy, we have bleak, rudd, chub, freshwater goby and even pike that are only found here and in some parts of slovenia and croatia, as well as a lot of endemic ciprinids.
Many areas are very deteriorated and full of invasives, but canals around Mantova should still be in decent conditions
@@pippercuz4717 I’d love to!
Yes, would be great to see a video catching Aphanius iberus or Aphanius baeticus in Spain, or the Valencia hispanica killifish in Spain. Aphanius fasciatus in Italy can look amazing, and Greece also has two Valencia killifish species.
Really enjoyed this one. Hoping to get out this week, it's been pretty poor for a while but hopefully a Pike will be interested.
@@luke_angling good luck! I’m zandering today
@@Chasingscalesspecieshunt Brilliant. How did you get on?
@@luke_angling got one small one
Romanichthys Valsanicola ( the rarest of Europe).
❤❤
Curious what species those tadpoles were. Look like midwife or spadefoot.
@@liamrooney8751 could well be!
😻😻😻😻😻
You should visit india after you finish collecting all the species in europe
Ice age remanent?
Since when is Greece in Britain 😂
its not worded very well but its meant to be two separate statements
