    Thank you. I followed your method to repair a t shirt hole on a blue and pink patterned t shirt and it was a very prominant hole at the front. I'm not really into sewing my colours are exclusively black or white and I needed bright pink. So, I did it with white cotton, it came out great and only a tiny bit of stitching showed on the outside. I got a pink permanent marker pen dabbed it on the white cotton and it's great, no more hole!

      Hi there, today I uploaded a video with the knotting technique explanation. Hopefully this will clear any guessing out of the way. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/dFecR4z5F3g/w-d-xo.html

    You sound like from Armenia like a lady I knew. She was from there. Neat voice & accent. If a person does not have a needle & thread they most likely not have an interfacing. I never heard of that or something like that to iron on etc only the word itself. Thanks for showing us how to sow a small hole tear. I am sewing 2 on a bag my mother made of 🌈 & a shirt.

    how do i repair a hole in grey sweat pants that’s kind of a square shape and quite big? is there any way to mend it with the least amount of showing if the hole? it’s quite large and on the back of the left upper thigh, so it’s pretty obvious. i’m not awful at sewing but not a pro, any tips to make it as least visibility as possible? thanks so mich

      Applique or iron-on patch. For sweatpants, you could get away with your favorite sports team logo.

    How big of a hole is too big for either of these methods?

    • @SewingatHomeMom
      @SewingatHomeMom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This method is best for average holes that we get for example from belt buckle/purse, holes in blouses and T-shirt, that mysteriously show up after washing.
      It's good for heavier fabrics as well such as denim, etc.
      You have to use your judgment and take under consideration:
      - the type of fabric you're wanting to repair (fine, heavy, knit, etc.)?
      - is it a solid colour fabric, pattered fabric?
      - how worn out is the item?
      It's easier to hide/repair bigger holes in a pattered fabric than in solid colour.
      If you have further questions, let me know.
      Hope that helps!

    Ok wait! How do you thread the needle with just 1 side?!

    • @SewingatHomeMom
      @SewingatHomeMom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there @Jenn Stephenson !
      You can watch my video on how to thread a needle in 3 easy ways - it's very simple th-cam.com/video/uuukhP8QrMk/w-d-xo.html
      By keeping your fingers pinched together to support the thread, follow through and push the needle between your fingertips towards the thread. As you continue with this motion part your fingertips you should reveal a threaded needle.
      When you're fixing a tiny hole in t-shirt it's best to use fine thread and make the knot ONLY on one end of the thread. This way the repair isn't going to show so much, as when both ends of the thread are knotted.

    What called that white tiny thing?

    • @SewingatHomeMom
      @SewingatHomeMom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's fusible interfacing that has a heat activated adhesive material on one side. Hope that helps!

  • @swiss6253
    @swiss6253 ปีที่แล้ว

    Several videos later, I still don't know how to:
    Tie initial knot on the thread
    Tie thread to the needle
    Finish knot at the end
    I'll just wing it and ruin my shirt now. Time wasted could've bought another shirt.
