Actually the Groot in the planter is Groot son the original groot died. There is a I am Groot short series with two seasons you should check out. Despite I am Groot coming out in phase 4 the MCU you can check it out now and it won't spoil anything going forward. The series isn't important or impactful their fun shorts featuring baby Groot growing up in the universe.

Surprisingly a lot of people have never watched any of the marvel movies for many reasons (not saying Kristen didn’t watch it for these reasons but the people I know didn’t watch them for these reasons) 1. Back when they came out they were associated with “children’s comics” 2. When they blew up, there were so many movies out it was hard to keep up with all the plot lines and remember everything
