Both times that I took a “break” from regular memory planning/decorative planning, I missed it a lot! But like you said it’s your planner, so do what makes you happiest!! 😊 nothing wrong with a little trial and error!
It's your planner, do whatever you want. :) I personally like the memory planning. It helps me with my mental health, focusing on the good at the time. and later, looking back on spreads, reminding myself that the current shitty situation IS temporary no matter what my brain is claiming.
i'm switching things up next year and going with a freeform planner. not using months or weekly spreads and just do a more loosely structured planner and embrace chaos. i call it "f*ck it planning" and it has got me excited!
I enjoy the nostalgic style- it really does work. If I keep up with actually doing something a particular way I know I'm onto a good plan- if I get way behind or don't do it regularly then I know I need to switch things up to something else. Also- I find that a "formula" way of laying down the stickers helps me do it more quickly and then I'm more likely to be able to do it vs freeform options that require lots of decisions. I want the pages to be pretty, fun to do and be something I am drawn to doing. Sometimes trying it out is the only way to find out if I'm onto a good idea or not.
I really enjoy watching your PWMs! I would love for them to continue, no matter the form they take. I already miss your Monday new release videos. It was such a nice routine to start the week by taking a look at my Excel spreadsheet of planned kits and see what I wanted to purchase to fill in my year, and to plan said purchase in advance. I however understand your interest in adapting your content creation / planning style to what this chapter of your life needs. At the end of the day, you have to make sure you are honouring those needs, as they should help you grow into the person you need to be at this time! Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season, and looking forward to the rest of Planmas!
I love having a separate functional planner to compliment my memory planning. Even when some things start feeling repetitive in life I’m always amazed to look back and see how much my day to day actually changes! But to echo others.. pleeeeease please please don’t ever stop making weekly kits like you do 🙏🏼 I’ve had literal nightmares about you closing SPC 🫣😓😅
As of late I was in a dot grid book bound, so I was able to change up my layout monthly, or even weekly. I liked it for a while, but then I didn't like how long it took to draw up the layouts, I've been in rings, which as I was able to change the layout monthly as well. Currently I'm in an undated HP dashboard mini. But 2025, I'm going with the EC A5 Daily Duo. I enjoy the daily/hourly aspect of planning. I think it will be good for you to change, if it means it will help you to keep planning. Go for it, you are in a rings, so easy to change layout and then if it just doesn't work for you, then go back to the vertical. But I think you can do at least a month before you want to go back. lol.
I needed this video. I’ve watched you for years Andrea and you inspired every ounce of my planning journey lol. This felt like you giving me permission to go back to the old way and I think this is what I need to get a handle back on my life lol. Love you thank you for sharing 💓
Love the hybrid planning idea! I used to love watching everyone's functional planning more so than the memory planning these days. I think a mixture of the two would be fun and functional!
I think switching things up is great for creativity and keeps you from getting into a slump. This year I switched up to a bullet journal where some pages are functional, some are art journaling/junk journaling, some are reading journal pages, and some are a monthly to do spread. I really like making each page what I want or need it to be! I can't wait to see what you create!
I’m starting weekly planning for the first time in 2025 and I’m planning on doing what you’re talking about switching to! I like the idea of having a physical planner to keep track of all the things I need to get done through the week but also to track the fun important things I do over the year
I'm excited to see what you come up with. I'm still planning the same as I have for many years. When I first started planning with stickers, it was very functional and mostly colorful pens and a few stickers but I believe I've been using full kits since 2014/2015.
Your planner, your rules! I still love planning, and I love memory planning as it’s a way to record my memories since I don’t feel I’m artistic enough for scrapbooking. But since having a baby 3 years ago and the cost of living increasing, and not living in America, I just don’t have the money to spend on stickers and particularly postage, so I think this will be my last year planning after 8 years. I’m sad, but time and money are my issue
I love your pwms. Memory planning/decorative planning is my style, and I love it. If I could switch my style, I want to try out floral theme weekly spreads, and very heavy decorated journaling, but buying stickers is out my equation atm. Your weekly spreads are goals.
I’m keeping everything pretty much the same. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?” But, I love your idea. I also think, and it would work especially well because you use a rings planner, you could do a functional spread and then if it’s one of the kids’ birthdays or another big event, the next spread could be a memory spread dedicated to that week. I think that would be cool 😊 Also, have you looked into the Hobonichi? I LOVE mine.
I feel this energy for sure. For 2025 I am going to take a break from memory planning and focus on 'pre-planning' in my hobonichi and then continue with my bullet journal for memory and media stuff. It's honestly hard to keep up with a plan with me for every week and I feel like I am always behind or struggling to stay current. I love memory planning but feel a bit burnt out on it. Hope you find the best solution for you!
I do a mixture of functional and memory planning. It took me 3 years to figure out what works for me. I also have a separate journal for daily thoughts. I am starting a composition notebook this year to do my habit trackers to see if that will work better for me. That's the fun and sometimes frustration of planning- customizing it to your needs.
My weeklies are for my schedule, so any appointments and then all the things I track - Meals, to-do's, and habits. Then, I have a journal where I write and do memory-keeping. I felt that by doing that in my weeklies and then journalling, I was doing it twice, and I didn't like that. So, do what you want and what works for you! Life isn't stagnant, and our planning shouldn't be either.
So interesting to hear that you’re thinking of changing things up! I felt the same way last couple years. I did the same thing trying to go back to adding the heart checklists, I liked how it looked but I just didn’t feel like I kept up with it and it wasn’t practical for me personally. I found planner peace using a Hobonichi cousin, which this year I’m changing to an aura Estelle A5 Complete, and I use the reading journal deco stickers or something similar to set up my weeks decoratively. I love it because its still super productive and portable but I still get the planner sticker joy lol. Then I’m using the pages between and after the weeks as like junk journaling/memories. I wasn’t willing to give up A5W vertical all together so now I use that more like a scrapbook with no rules on how often I use it. I just use an undated and when I have a week I want to use a kit for or that’s super special I can memory plan it in that planner. I hope you find something you love or fall back in love with your system. I love the PWMs by the way 😄
I will always keep a form of memory planner. The execution may vary or even cycle through styles over the years and that's cool with me. With that, I also keep some type of functional planner alongside the memory planner to actually make the plans I make memories of lol. I didn't kit plan this year because I wanted to experiment with other mediums and stickers but I won't say I never will again. I see this as more than a hobby, but an actual lifestyle. So, I think it's natural that your planning styles will fluctuate based off your current season of life. Just always try to have fun with it, when it gets too overthought, it feels like a chore. Boo chores!
This is my last year doing sticker kits and custom scripts and memory planning, the full nine. It’s been kind of bittersweet, but it’s time for the change and I need to put planner money towards other things now. For 2025 I’m moving to more journaling and having everything in 1 place between work and personal. And I’ll be tracking more reading and book things to reinvigorate the excitement of reading. And for trips or bigger weeks I may still memory plan them, we will see!
I switched back to using the checklist for functional planning in my A5 wide planner this past year. I felt like it worked for me years ago, why did I even change it?!? I’ve been enjoying using my sticker kits the way I used to this past year and plan to do it again for 2025 😊 I’m using the Sadie’s Stickers spiral planner.
I have bullet journaled for 6-7 years. It’s definitely more economical and you can do whatever you want. I use it functionally weekly for todo lists and then do monthly memory spreads. Then could do an arty page if I want. Now….i have fallen off since having my baby a few months ago but honestly I’m back planning and it will somewhat also be my “baby book”
A planner is very personal. I think we all have things that work for us. I tried two planners this year (one for actual plans and another for memory) and it was too much for me. I will say I love the look of scripts but with inflation costs of living, I’m gonna give them up in 2025 to save money. I also have a binder of hoarded kits that could last me two years so I don’t want to change my way of kit planning just yet but definitely something I’m considering. I do miss having a spiral planner tho but I hate the EC so 🤷♀️. So many decisions haha
That is what I’m trying for 2025 too . I’m more functional planner and I wanted to do more memory planning but I really don’t want to add another planner so I’m doing a hybrid for 2025 😊
I am memory planner. I know reading journals etc are all the rage, but please don’t ever stop weekly SPC kits, lol! I would so die! (Over reacting! 😜😇🤣)
I’m still memory planning and I use a cheap Wally planner for my list and to do’s. BUT I miss when you and Kerstin planned this way! Kerstin and her class schedule. lol. Good times.

I absolutely love your plan with me’s! They’re so therapeutic to watch and I would totally miss them if you changed it up!

Girl can u not give me a heart attack. This year coming up is going to be my first year planning. Im very excited.
haha I thought the same, 2024 is my first year properly memory planning. I can't wait to do it again for 2025

Memory planner 4ever but also team whatever works best in whatever phase of life anyone’s in!
Yes !!! I love it.

I'm having the same dilemma. I really need functional planning, but I still love pretty planning with all the foils and stickers.
I am memory planner. I know reading journals etc are all the rage, but please don’t ever stop weekly SPC kits, lol! I would so die! (Over reacting! 😜😇🤣)
I’m 100% with you on this. I’m honestly getting a little worried about the weekly kits… 😬 I hope they don’t go away… 😢
I didn't realize how much I missed the old style. I still go back to your pwm videos from like 2017.
Im still loving memory planning
Do what feels right for you. If you need to change the system, then go for it.
I love hybrid planning because a lot of days I literally have 1 work 2 made dinner 3 bed early 🤣
Are you still going to use your EC/non-filming planner in addition to your rings?
Nothing wrong with trying something different!
DO YOU!❤
I’m still memory planning and I use a cheap Wally planner for my list and to do’s. BUT I miss when you and Kerstin planned this way! Kerstin and her class schedule. lol. Good times.
