Fun Fact: Ranma and Akane have the same voice actors as Inuyasha and Kikyo.

Sometimes, the first English voice actor for Ranma was Sarah Strange who also did Ranma in the OVA's that came after the series, it was later in the series that Richard Cox who did Innuyasha, did Ranma. Cox's Ranma and Innuyasha always sounded pissed off while Sarah's was more thoughtful and measured, also Sarah's portrayal of Ranma when a blow to his head had him thinking he really was a girl at heart was excellent, a woman portraying a boy acting like a girl. As good as Cox was, I still think Strange's Ranma though fewer than Cox's was certainly top quality voice acting. Cox was also a lot older when he did Innuyasha which worked well as Innuyasha was centuries old yet still from a development perspective was still the equivalent of a late teen to young adult which always made the relationship between him and Kagome seem a bit inappropriate, at least till after the three years the well had disappeared for, and she finished high school. I have no idea as to other language dubbing such as the Spanish dubbing went and Ranma got a lot more airtime in Latin American countries then in the US.

      @@johnwang9914 they're talking about the Japanese VA's

@@willpina The post said that the voice actors were the same for the main characters of both Ranma 1/2 and Innuyasha are the same. Sure that could be the Japanese VA's but that could also be the English VA's, the change in the English VA's and would also be true with the English VA's except that there was an early change in the VA for the Ranma character which was reversed for the OVA's which is usually noted in discussions of voice acting with Ranma 1/2. I suppose, we might want to consider the Spanish VA's as Ranma 1/2 was far more popular in the Latin American countries then in the English countries but I haven't heard of comparisons of VA's between Ranma 1/2 and Innuyasha in the Spanish world as much as there are discussions of the English VA's between those two series being the same nor about the change of English VA's for Ranma having impacted the apparent character. I don't know where you are extrapolating that they are talking only about the Japanese VA's from as there is nothing in the post that says the VA's were the same between the two series plus the post was in English while Richard Cox did provide the English voice acting for Innuyasha and most of the English voice acting for Ranma. Seems like you're just pulling the they are talking only about the Japanese VA's out of your cognitive bias rear, especially when the English VA's were mostly the same between the two series and were often discussed as such.

      @@johnwang9914 tl;dr
This video is specific to the Japanese audio. It's on the title.
The original post made a 100% undisputable statement that applies to the Japanese version.
No need to discuss to mostly irrelevant English dub.

That was the most confusing placement of romantic tension ever 🤣

    • @johnwang9914

The intent for all the romantic tension between Ranma and Akane was to be confusing which is why they had so much chemistry. The next strongest chemistry IMHO would be between Riyoga and Ranma. Sure we all love Shampoo, Kodaichi and Ukyo but really there really wasn't any return for their affections on Ranma's part and of course Kuno was a completely different matter though his confession to the pigtailed girl was priceless.

I always wondered what did Ranma say here. I tried to rewatch it, but every time it came to this scene I somehow always spaced out and missed it. XD Thanks for uploading this! ^^ Now I know! I thought it was something a bit more deep than 'Then I don't have to worry about y...' ^^; But oh well...

Ohh Ranma, sooner or later you have to do it
If you're alive by then that is. Like he had put up with many people 🤣 (same for Akane)

@@yosefdemby8792 I don’t understand; could you elaborate? Like do you mean to say Ash Ketchum is an example of a 10 year old boy who doesn’t like girls? Cause if that’s what you mean then that’s not really true. Since in the show (Pokémon: Indigo League) he’s been shown to blush and gawk over a few pretty women/girls before.
