@@SteveLEKORodrigue from memory if you mean the original core set she does have some issues like only having a single of of some key cards (like shrivelling if I remember correctly). If you just playing for a bit of fun go for it, but if you want to be more competitive then a second core is helpful. I beat Dunwich solo with her with only the cards for that and base (x2)
Love you guys! Been watching your videos for a while which inspired me to pick up the game and eventually play through all the expansions. So funny and informative, my favorite arkham content producers by far!
Totally. You know they truly love the game to produce content, almost daily, knowing the viewership is low. So they really are doing it for the love of the game.
I just gotta throw in Stella Clark here. The Blunder Woman deck on arkhamdb was so good. Solo RttFA was a blast with here. She is just amazing, and her action compression possibilites are so much fun. Drawing thin, take heart, live and learn etc etc. :-) Tried Trish and Patrice as well solo with more success than Yorick, but that might just be my playstyle or whatnot.
Jim Culver is my favorite. Not exactly the strongest, but, those 5 level 0 cards from any other classes can do a lot to round him out early on. And if you have a good selection, you can do anything with Mystic cards llater on, once you have some XP to spend.
2 handed solo is more than twice as complex in terms of decision making, but helps smooth the difficulty. I'm excited at Trish Scarborough as a solo investigator. She investigates, she evades, and sometimes she does both at the same time.
I wouldn't call it "twice as complex in terms of decision making". You are just swapping less meaningful decisions in deck building for a more fiddly game play.
Good list - and I do think Jackie may soon take the coveted top ability spot from Wendy, though she’s an honorable mention for solo. Stella is also very good solo. Maybe a list idea of investigators who get stronger with more players? People who play solo might sleep on how good Minh, Daisy, Diana, Akachi and others get with time to set up and people to help.
Tried my first mystic the other day and it was Jackie. Currently doing TCU and I’m having a lot of success with her. Her ability is ridiculously good. “Oh I drew a tentacle”, let’s just redraw!
how can you defeat e.g. umordhoth with wendy? she doesn't have enough combat. the whole core set scenarios are basically "kill X, advance". I honestly don't see her as the best. Maybe with other expansions? if other expansions are required for her to be the best, you need to mention this.
For me: Trish Scarbrought should be in the discussion. Yorick is worthy of inclusion in this top 5. (assuming its campaign) Calvin is the actual best Solo investigator.
I am actually doing that now in adunwich campaign. I can understand some characters being fun for the challenge, but I don't think I like true solo, it makes missions go by so quickly, and normally i have to cut corners/do perfect action efficiency. I like the missions that are hard timeline, but i also enjoy when i get to setup my character and then be a badass lol.
I found Yorick unwieldy and prone to defeat, wouldn’t be 4th for me. Haven’t tried him with cards after Carcosa though so might be a better option these days.
First, thank for the clues to make solo decks. I just bought Path to Carcosa and i was trying to make some solo decks. Can you tell me why Rex Murphy cant use lucky (Lv0) in his deck? I just tried to make his deck in arkhamdb and couldnt include in it. I checked the restrictions but couldnt find any.
Darrell wasn't released when we recorded this video. As for Gloria, I'm not sure, maybe we didn't play with her yet when we recorded this or she was also too new, because she's probably great for solo.
They've changed in a way. These likely aren't accurate and we don't think about true solo anymore, so we likely won't make content regarding it anymore.
I think, from your three picks for #3, Ursula is actually a lot stronger than Finn, and it's a shame you didn't talk about her more. Sure, she doesn't quite deal with monsters as effectively, but she doesn't immediately fold to will-testing treachery cards, and her clear speed in a typical scenario is *absurd*. There's something simply beautiful about playing her and just outrunning all of your problems; the scenario can't kill you if you don't give it the time it needs to do so (plus, if there's victory points on locations you're almost guaranteed to get all of them).
I get very grumpy whenever anyone says Wendy Adams is good because I have *literally never* had real success with her at the table (either soloing as her, though I gave up on that quick, or with anyone else playing as her).
Good convo, but it would nice if you used all that wasted space to actually show us the information sides of the investigators, and the cards you are talking about. Not everyone has played this game a million hours and has every card memorized.
I wish you did more true solo content...that is how ALOT of us play
thats true my dude, none of my friends like the game :(
My vote for next video is top five Duos!
Agnes all the way
Kill things - check
Get clues - check
Deck search - check
High willpower - check
Free exp cards - check
Cancel treachery cards - check
Testless damage - check
I don't see much deck search with her, other than Arcane Initiate. But, yeah, she is the strongest true solo investigator by far.
Markus Schmidt I agree but given you main clue and kill cards are exactly what she searches for I’m happy with that
Even with only the core set? New player asking the question.

I still run with my boy Roland solo. Blue Yellow deck mix is solid, and guts is reliable as always
No Joe Diamond or Safina Russo?

Hello ! And what about now for a New solo investigateurs awards ?
Love the channel and content! Next time it would be great if you could show the full investigator card for reference
Would be Great to See Stats and abilities
I’d love a best Duo list, too! I usually two-hand investigators, and I believe a lot of others do!
A duo list is our next list in our recording schedule, it should be out on December 10th!
PlayingBoardGames Hey that’s awesome to hear! Thank you for keeping an eye on player requests here : )

this video really needs to have the cards you are talking about in the view. its impossible for someone to follow who's new to the game.
Been loving Silas solo, although especially TCU can be hard for him with a lot of willpower checks. Love the videos guys, keep safe and healthy!

Which scenarios would you guys recommend to test decks out? solo and/or multiplayer.
We actually have a list video for just this topic: th-cam.com/video/G6AGoE2C86s/w-d-xo.html
I was playing Doom of Eztli with Luke and teleported across the map to the entrance and it felt so good

Just picked up AH to play with my daughter. Love your content!
That's awesome, I hope you have fun with it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Justin, you should play true solo again some time soon with winnifred for example! She's fun in solo like Finn :D

Joe diamond ?
hi guys, want to know when you play solo do you play easy or standart mode ? tq

William is a master shoveller. He's always kicked ass for me.
Not showing the other side?

I'm going from memory, but I believe Rex is not allowed to put Fortune cards in his deck.
I’m surprised Darrell and Gloria didn’t make the cut.

@@PlayingBoardGames Thank you for answering! Love your channel (despite you doing dirty all the time to my dear Marie!)
Has your opinion on these changed in 2 years?

@PlayingBoardGames aww... the video said your opinion might have changed in 2 years so I thought I'd ask 2 years later :)
I can't believe it's been two years since we made this video!
I love Wendy but come on - you have to kill bosses in this game, like all the time. Her "workarounds" can damage them but not finish them.
