There's much meaningless hostility... Mostly in politics, the rest of us just don't care, astronauts in particular i guess. There are plenty that would do a view from above some good, maybe it would help them feel small and humble for a change. I figure once you've been up there... It changes a person.
Making humanity multi-planetary on a massive scale ... Now there's an exciting thought. Having seen "Wanderers" by Erik Wernquist, i'm rooting for SpaceX and other companies aside existing agencies to shake this industry up and lead the way. The true 2nd space age was long overdue.

science and things that have a direct/indirect help to its advance is one of the only few fields that has little to no mindless arguing

I am very impressed with spaceX and their Merlin engines, falcon 9 rocket and dragon capsule. Can't wait to see the Dragon V2 with its super Draco engines take to space.

why do they wait so long before opening the hatch?

Pressure checks and whatnot. It'd be rather unpleasant for them to open with haste, and kill everyone in the process.

And next decade the USA will have their own docking system. I mean even the Chinese dock automatically.

ELECTROSTATIC ION ENGINES nah, i poke fun on stuff that is standard since decades. It is funny that Americans wanna sell us 50 years old achievements as new ones. ;:)

How is sustaining the operation of the International Space Station, and its crew, not an achievement? Besides, nobody is claiming this to be of extraordinary significance, so your comment is meaningless.

Every successful space launch and mission completion is a achievement. You 're making a mistake thinking that they easy and routine. All launches are high risk and a lot effort and skill go into making them successful. America isn't trying to sell anything. The problem is your hate.

Cargo spacecraft berth using the arm. Crewed spacecraft, including the shuttle and the future Dragon V2 and CST-100, will dock automatically.
