- Battlefield 2042 is here and this is my full console settings guide. I've packed as much detail in as I could manage without going on for too long. There's sensitivity, field of view, aim assist and everything else I could think of to help you to find your own best settings. It applies to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and even somewhat controller players on PC.

Remember games where you just had to deal with what they made. And it was totally fine if not better! All these settings throw you off and take so much time to figure out…

After only playing BF1 for the last many years, I finally decided to get BF 2042 after seeing the positive feedback on the latest update for it that dropped a couple days ago. First thing I did was come to your channel to look for a video like this - cheers!

I don’t know if it’s just me, but moving your camera while shooting when aiming feels…choppy? I don’t even know what to call it, but it feels weird
This made a night and day difference in my gameplay. It was almost unplayable but now feels amazing
Did u copy all his settings? This shit feels so bad ive looked at like 5 diff settings videos and none of them hve really made a difference shit just feels weird i gotta try extra hard
prob I'm having is that it doesn't feel like there's any aim assist at all and the guns recoil just shoots up into the air.
Yeah I noticed that too. The vertical recoil is so strong it’s hard to hit anything at distance. I know your comment is a month old and you may not be struggling anymore but if you’re at distance and let’s say using the AK42, then switch to single shot or burst and the vertical recoil is significantly reduced.
@@radjamss6390 No prob, I'm still feeling it with every gun I touch except the sniper/marksmen rifles. that's only cause i haven't gotten around to using them yet. Plus, even with some that already have low recoil like m5a3, AC-42 and smgs will be very accurate for 2-4 kills then all of the sudden the recoil just increases and trying to hit someone at mid-range to a little beyond mid-range is like trying to someone from the other side of the map and the aim assist isn't much better more than half the time i don't think it's even on.

One of the biggest issues I’ve noticed with “Alternate” on the buttons is two things:
1. The stick press also changes the scopes that have multiple magnifications. In other BF’s it wasn’t an issue, but in this one, if you do so with Alternate, you will also be ducking and standing when changing the magnification.
2. When in the Corss menu on Alternate, pressing O/B to change your ammo option will cause you to knife and exit your Cross menu. You have to hold it down for a second to let it switch, you can’t tap it.
So even though I agree and prefer Alternate, until the fix these issues, or if someone knows a way to address it, it literally WANTS you playing on default, lest you be plagued by these annoyances with multi-magnifying scopes and adjusting cross menu ammo. :/

That's what I did with the grenade, put it on LB and weapon attachments on up d-pad. Much much better !

Left button on the Xbox controller just beside the left trigger that's where grenade was set on all the other Battlefield.
LB it's like L1 on Playstation controller.

Man I wish they would keep it as simple as COD. All you need is sensitivity, ADS sens and response curve. I'm struggling again to translate my warzone settings over to Battlefield. Something feels off.
Don’t worry about it being a you thing. I have a long history of settings guides and 5 years of covering BF… I’m still struggling to make BF2042 feel good.

Yep. Uniform aiming. Coefficient. Aim ratio All the different aims. So frustrating
I'm a battlefield player only and I agree they should not have this many things on console at least because some even hurt performance but they don't mention it... Just like fov setting can really mess with hit detection and aim sensitivity

Honestly i prefer red cross hairs, cause every other color tends to blend way too much on a couple matches.

No idea if I can be bothered with this soulless game but your guides always deserve a thumbs up. Always found your settings to be a basis to fine tune and, frankly, the first time I found your BF1 settings guide it upped my gameplay and stats enormously!
Oh... inverted axis always! ;) *I grew up on flight sims and I actually cannot play anything with sticks without inverting the vertical axis. :)
I've set all my controls the same since BF4. But, they really fucked something up with 2042. Everything just feels off and the fact that the aim assist is next to non-existent. Almost makes the game not worth playing.
I’m sure a lot of the issues we have now will be fixed with the day one patch

Playing the alternate button layout is kinda hard cause say you go to switch your ammo attachment it takes you out of it and melee.. not sure if I’m the only one this happens to or what.

on the oneX , im finding it glitchy, the ui is a nightmare with trying to setup ur guns that doesnt take, plus the textures are blurred... are u lot on crack or series x and pc because on the oneX , i want my money back after 30min of play and i got the ultimate for the day i get series x. playing since 1942 and this is crap 🤐

try USA on 0%, I use vertical ratio 100% and turn accel off on 0, other than that I have the same settings, nice video.

I mapped buttons and they still aren’t working. I mapped the throw grenade to left bumper and it doesn’t work.

Just wanna see a auto reset toggle for the weapons that can switch between semi auto and auto. Hate having to keep toggling it back on and off and forgetting I have it semi auto then getting slashed in the face or pistol whipped

I HAVE to go On Foot, Buttons = Alternate because I will inevitably mash R3 in heat of moment. Why melee is there by default is beyond me.

i think my L2 in my aircraft is broken when my camera is in my cockpit i try to aim it like goes farther out and i can't zoom my crosshair
The controls are so bad if left alone on battlefield 2042 I don't know why they couldn't just leave them how they were on battlefield 4 everything felt good on that game.
Why did they stop allowing us to change the headshot skull color?
I just realize is the hdr deactivated or something in these game I don’t know feel battlefield 5 with more power or something maybe is my tv but well thanks it helps a lot and yes always play with the melee on B

Crosshair Projection, so in some games as you are aiming, like say a red dot, if you look left or right, the dot has a delay and you can see it come off center, maybe this is what they are talking about?
I know you can do keyboard and mouse on call of duty google said you can for it but does that have a setting part in this video

On ps4 my map won't open to open have it set to d-pad (default) and on the bottom left its gray instead of green and it just won't open. Idk if it's bc I'm playing it not finished yet it still needs to download the full version so I'm playing with bots

I have a PlayStation 4 and the display settings are all slightly off screen. I’ve gone to my PS4 settings to make the display smaller but it has no effect. The ingame display settings doesn’t have anything to change screen size either. Is there a way to fix this

Hey! I had the traversal sprint on always on before last update. And now it can't be changed. I don't have a setting anymore for traversal sprint but i van only traversal sprint instead. The supports suggestions didn't work either. Does anyone else have this problem? Are you setting for traversal sprint still there?

Any news on when we can expect voice chat on crossplay? I've bought the game for myself (on Xbox Series X) and friend (on PS5) and both can't speak together in our Party, we were both in disbelief that this feature could be lacking in a 'crossplay' game?? Any idea when it's coming?
Yeah DICE/EA has to get their sh** together. Some Basic features for any FPS are missing smh.
