I'm a doctoral candidate in Education, but I read philosophy in my spare time. This channel is more than helpful for me. Thank you Dr.Anderson for putting educational content on TH-cam.
I've also heard the term "GOOP" as referring to "Good ol' Oxford philosophy" - sometimes it can be quite much like goop in substance: not much there, and hard to scrub off.
Thank you for the video.🌷 Interesting question at the end. On the more spiritual and poetic side, I think I trust authentic statements, not because they're necessarily objectively true, but because they represent the truest truths of the person who says them. And authentic conversations are passionate and generate many insights. More technically though, I guess I trust statements that I know and can keep track of HOW the statement got to its conclusion. When the way toward the conclusion is unknown or unknowable for me, I cannot really trust it, even if it is objectively true.
Continental philosophy: Frankfurt school, England school, France school. Known as contemporary philosophy. Ref.: The History of Philosophy (Germany and UK) by K Bertens.
Why is the writing associated with those who are considered Continental philosophers so dense and impenetrable? One would have thought that if it were associated more with literature and the Arts it would have been better written.

In the UK we use 'Continental' to indicate something different, interesting, but insubstantial, like a 'continental breakfast'.
Nobody cares.

Like your videos.
Do you consider Hume continetal philosophy or analytical philosophy?
Definitely analytical, like most British philosophers.
so Noam Chomsky is a continental philosopher ?
No, Chomsky is firmly in the analytic tradition and has been dismissive of continental philosophy as a whole.
Let’s develop an American continental philosophy
🌷😇🌷
Love your glasses
Why not call it euro centric philosophy?
Continental philosophy is a false problem. I would say that to analytical philosophers. :)
This stuff seems dead of life so technical
