And at the time, bands like this came out and were shunned because they weren't playing the style of music we were accustomed to. So here's my shout out to Butthole Surfers, Green Jell-O ( Green Jelly due to copyright infringement ), Monster Magnet and Type O Negative. In the words of the late Curt Cobain, " We didn't realize we were popular until Weird AL Yankovic parodied us, " I maybe paraphrasing or changing his line a bit, but that statement stuck with me throughout the years. If you're hated enough to be parodied, you do have talent and are relative in the music industry.
