This cuts so damn deep. Thank you for a song that helps me release that pain, even if just for a little while before it draws itself back in the depths of my soul. I'm broken & I'm not sure I'll ever be whole again. I don't think it fair to hope that someone can come along & heal what he destroyed in my soul. He's dying a slow death & broke up with me because he said he wanted to spare me the pain of his suffering. Fast forward six months later & I see he's with a woman 12 years older than him. He's 48 & she's 60. His profile picture on his socials with them looking happy together & all these cartoon hearts around the edges like some silly teenager would post. He said his FB was hacked right as we started life together & that he couldn't access it & yet, it's up to date showing he's in a relationship with her while her profile shows the same with both their friends congratulating them both in their happiness while I fall deeper in my pain. WHY!? Was it ALL a lie? What was real? I swear the only thing I KNOW is how I felt with him, how I felt about him, how purely I loved that man. I gave all & yet, I sit here at nearly 3am, broken, devastated, in pieces, yearning for answers I will never get, praying for peace in not knowing why. It's been 7 months & the pain is still as deep, as raw as the day he turned his back to walk out of my life. One day he will pass on to leave me here with my misery, my missing piece that will never be replaced. He'll find his peace while I will be left here to carry the scars he placed on my heart, my soul. I don't wish this sort of pain on anyone. I cry nearly every day when a scent, a song, the beta fish we laughingly called our love child, as a memory hits me out of absolutely nowhere! WHEN DOES THIS STOP??? Please God take this pain away & replace it with your love, your peace once again.
