I have to agree with you about the vibe. The front entrance only has a REALLY small scare zone then blank space all the way down to Vamp 69. Plus I didn’t understand at first why I was hearing Beatles music at HHN until I got to that scare zone It was weird.
The front scarezone isn’t even a scarezone really. It just seems like a fancy entrance more than anything…plus Vamp 69 music is blaring through that area!
Brian it was so dope meeting you at the event tonight! I won’t lie I for sure agree with the energy being off on opening night. I was hoping it would be better tonight but to me it kind of felt the same and there was no rain at all. I know it’s opening weekend still so I’m faithful for an improvement!

The problem that we face with the time is that we are stopping to film and discuss things. That usually takes a whole lot of time from us instead of just going straight to the houses. But usual nights we go without the camera, we tend to get everything down early in the night!
You said everything I was thinking! I have watched 6 other Channel's opening weekend videos and only 2 of them (DiscoLiz and Kevin Heimbach) hit the nail on the head like you! The crowds are overwhelming, the scare zones are weird, and there's not many places to take a breather. Also, Diagon Alley seems extremely claustrophobic. When the Death Eaters were in Hogsmeade you could actually watch and participate in the dueling now it just seems like a zoo. I hope someone from Universal Creative Team/HHN Team is watching this video and taking NOTES! I'll be there first weekend in October so hopefully by then they add bigger and /or more set pieces to the scare zones, amp up the projections and music for the streets and stand-by lines, accelerate that express line, add more things to do like game booth and food booths to spread the crowds out, and maybe lower the crowd capacity! What also sucks is Islands of Adventure closing at like 6,7,8pm. Maybe if IOA stayed open til 10-11 crowds may go there, too. I don't know but something has to improve.

@@BrianFromOrlando Yeah man, went Sunday, still my favorite event. I loved how they did Hyde in Monsters. And the Yeti house had such a fun campy vibe to it. I expected more from Jungle but I thought the Scarezones and Houses were great.
I was able to make it down for opening night. It was very disappointing for all the reasons you two mentioned. I made it through only 7 houses with express, didn’t eat a thing and stayed until 130. Last night was much better! ST and TLOU were both underwhelming. And agree on Chucky and Yeti. Odd fellow sort of felt like a knock off of a House of a Thousand Corpses. Monsters had too many Phantoms like last year had too many mummies. Thought Blood, DD and Exorcist were really good!
Two weeks in, and for me I can't believe last year was better in so many ways. Dont know whats happening with this year lacks of good scared zones, HHN food, park music, half decent houses. :/ I think is the first year that im actually looking forward to end and move on to Christmas.
We feel that this year needs some time for improvement. There has been some off things but it still has some high potential! Even up to this point, they have improved drastically!
Alright I’ve been waiting to see this cause I value y’all’s opinion. I had allllll the exact same issues. I’ve never missed a house on opening night but last night I couldn’t make it to 2. I ate one food item all night so we were starving the entire night. & when I had that piece of pizza me & fish split like dummies soo yeah ran on no food. One thing I will say is I did really enjoy stranger things though. I’m just obsessed & I would have enjoyed it either way I think. We shall see what happens tonight. Hope to see y’all. Enjoy!

Excited to check this video out. I think you made the start of the season fun this year with all the hype. Hopefully lots of in-park content this year. Personally that’s the type of park content I usually watch because I just run it in the background sometimes
We’ve hit so many unfortunate personal problems this year that made it difficult for us to get majority of our videos out. What we’ve decided to do is take this year slowly with content and use the time to start filming and prepping for an intense HHN year next year!
I'm going tomorrow the 3rd, do you think it will get better by then in terms of energy and staff count? I hope so but I'm going again on the 27th of October so it would suck to have to make 2 trips for all houses but I guess it would be fine.
@@BrianFromOrlando the 3rd turned out pretty good actually, I only got to try pizza fries and complete 6 houses but I went with my brother and had a decent time.
Im so excited you guys got to enjoy opening night, but it stinks that night 1 wasn’t epicly amazing right off the bat. It’s only going to get better as the season goes on, but the disorganization and such definitely sounds like it all put a damper on the night. I hope they change their tune as time goes on and everything gets more and more amazing.
Thanks for the honest comment guys. I went the second night and it definitely wasn’t the same! They could have done a lot better. For example the last of us could have been better too. They could have stepped it up!
Opening night is always the weakest night of the event but also with the downpour scare actors aren’t able to go out until it stops which adds more of the elements. Too many ppl worried about taking pictures and getting drinks. After opening weekend the event always improves. The next night should be better with a full opening scaremeonies
So the story of the chucky house is that chucky breaks the 4th wall. Team members brought him into the house and when he realized no one was dieing, Chucky killed the team members. Its more funny than scary. Sad you didn't give me man more respect. Yeah it can be improved but what else are you going to get?
The biggest problem we have with that house is it’s location. The sets also seemed “unfinished” in a way. We plan to go through that house more throughout the run and hope the energy has improved since. We are actually going to discuss more about this house in our upcoming livestreams. This video and thoughts were only from opening night.
Unpopular opinion but HHN has been on a slow decline for many years now. Houses are generally good but predictable and repetitive in their scares and conga lines. Scare zones are not scary, have become more about photo ops and seem to be thrown together without much care. I’ll continue going because I’m a fan of Halloween - and that there is the problem. They have no need to change because we will all keep going.
