All these people talking about "Throw the dice!" on the Kraken fight. But no one's taking about how he had 17 raw damage if he used his 5's on Ice Shard. (And 12 damage mininmum if curse activated) Still great content. But MAN, that was a well-deserved loss 😂
Nah, he has _waaay_ more confidence playing Spire. I'm sure that everyone and their dog here in the comments would love to debate whether or not he deserves that confidence, but at the very least he's talking the talk in Spire.

Even so, you can't deny that my man is madly, madly in love with Slay the Spire. As bad as he was at times, there's some golden moments of greatness buried in those dark ages of A19 runs, and he relished in those.

You know, I love that misplays are finally punishing him in this game. But I hate that he then blames the game instead of realizing that he is constantly playing bad.
The kraken fight feels worst than a lot of his StS missplays because for those you could argue that many were order errors or action economy errors that kraken fight he just couldn't add 1+1+1+1=4
On another, Kraken-unrelated note, the Snowman modifier seems like one of the absolute *worst* modifiers for the Witch, right behind Fireman (or Hothead?), which Burns every 6; and Bounty Hunter, which is _never_ roll a natural 6. You're really just killing your sixth equipment slot outright and taking your 4th and 5th out along with it, since those slots are going to be the most heavily affected. I think flipping some equipment around might've helped him out a lot, but the better play might've just been to reroll Snowman, imo.

_conceptually_ I like the Witch the most of any character in Dicey Dungeons. In practice, though, I think probably the Thief or the Jester are the best.
You know, especially in episode 6, I question the logic behind prepping a spell with a dice that can't work with it. The "Singer" rule makes you roll only one type of dice on your first turn, and if your spell can't work with itself, then you just end up setting up a bunch of spells without doing any damage. You also can't limit break out of that since the rule applies to your limit break as well. I get prepping things like Silver/Gold Cauldrons in the opposite slot so that you can focus on only one type of parity or dedicating the opposite parity to dice manipulation, but putting stuff like enchanted shield in 6 makes no sense to me.

Hothead is *amazing* for Witch though... hurling burning dice deals 2 damage (4 vs weak to fire enemies!)

No. Passive mana gain makes it one of the best Witch equipment. The Nudge ability is secondary.

Pretty much any equipment that gets you an automatic bonus is good in this game, and daffodil is the best one if you have a mana sink.
No reason to use a prepared slot for flower pot, especially when you only have one other spell that doesn't even benefit from Mana.

That Kraken fight was the most obvious missed lethal ever, it hurts to see... 2 5s to put into ice attacks, and enough dice to throw to kill it.

Cold snap seems really good imo. At 2 Mana it seems like a better ice shard. It doesn't even use the Mana.
Yeah, a strat I really like is to prep Daffodil just to get 2 mana, then go buck wild with Cold Snap. Add an odd-only cauldron to make it really sing
