      @@ReefDork But I really cannot believe how many cords you have ;) I counted 12 (2 lights, 1 return, 1 inkbird / heater, 1 doser, 1 battery, 2 wavemakers, 2 for ATS and a skimmer plus an airpump for bubble scrubing ;) I am hoping I can rely on the Red Sea ATO (yeah that's not gonna last long).
      My real issue is that I have different ends (1 US and 2 or 3 Aussie - the rest EU).
      This is such a great idea and it should have been something I bought at the very beginning ;)

    Just a thought , if you were to do away with the connectors and change the plugs to the male c14 connectors ,you would also be forgoing the fuses in each plug , is this not unsafe ?

    • @ReefDork
      @ReefDork  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did that with 2 things, one stopped working so I switched back. Couldn't face the prospect of changing all plugs over - too much faff. Plus I have some devices plugged into timers so they need a 3 pin and if I sell anything, I'd have to swap the plug again. So all in all, too much faff.

    I've just came across these. Do you have one normal plug from the DJ switch panel into a normal 3 pin socket? And its still ok power wise etc?
    I thought i was doing well wih my 2 6 plug extension cables stuck with velcro inside the cabinet 😂
    I have a d-d skimmer guard, so cant wire it up to the dj switch. Im wondering whether theres a solution.

    • @ReefDork
      @ReefDork  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep, one lead with a 3 pin plug out. You can connect normal plugs to it - you just need a 3 pin to kettle adapter. I have about a million of them! Just set this system up on my new tank too - love it!

    • @bluesteeI
      @bluesteeI 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah right, sounds like a plan. I've just bought a switch panel from Prebeat. Only £35 and Toolstation has the C14 plugs. I plan on re-wiring the plugs so I have less to do.
      I'm thinking the WiFi plugs will work with those C14 to 3 pin adapters too so I might just do this instead.

    Reef Dork :) Hi from South Texas. I am setting up a mixed reef tank. On previous
    Marine tanks I ran a heater but a friend told me he never runs a
    heater. I keep my house temp set at 72 and my tank seems to be holding
    steady around 74.5. But in doing some internet research I seem
    to get the consistent you should be at 77. Whats your thoughts? Is 74
    OK? or to low. Thanks.

    • @ReefDork
      @ReefDork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Howdy Wendell. That's pretty low and for the sake of a few dollars, I'd get a heater. I rarely see tanks running that low, so while it may be possible it's not ideal. 🙂
