I don’t get it. Why does he have her drinking so much? I can’t stand the way he treats her. Very condescending and patronizing. Actually he makes fun of her and takes advantage of her. His character is not likeable. Wish she would get a clue and totally reject him.
FL’s behavior is fine for a five-year-old, but for a young lady it is extremely annoying and inappropriate. Being good-hearted alone is not enough by itself. She is without basic manners and social awareness. Her parents in this story are very proper and would never have allowed her to grow up to act like this, such as stuffing her mouth with food to the point of being disgusting. No dignified man in his right mind would want to be with her. I feel the writers went too far when they created her character to the point that she is no longer sympathetic. I get that she is supposed to be simple, but simple people can have good manners. We want to like and relate to our main lead characters.
