      I’ve heard only wonderful things about the species, enjoying the discovery. You must have a Pionus, what species?

      Thank you, Judith! Now we’ll have to see if she’s a hen or if her name will be switched to Ale, short for “Alebrije” the painted animal figures famous in Oaxaca, Mexico. That’ll be a big change!!!

    Pionus are, in my opinion, one of the best kept secrets in the parrot kingdom. Enjoy her. Was it love at first site?💖💖💖

      Now that’s an accolade! I’m surprised that she can be loud - maybe she’s adjusting. Yes, those big round eyes are easy to fall in love with.

  • @kromsnavelfun

    What I see is that the hand fed Pionus are loud!
    And a lot of noise around this breed can make them noisy.
    So happy mine (Maximiliani) isn't loud at all.

    It's funny my new parrotlet boy I gotfor the female I have the girl hasn't really bonded with him but their cage is next to my mountain parakeets and she's takin a shine to the baby boy today I caught her regurgitating towards him then because she couldn't feed him I think she got frustrated because she then mounted the male parrotlet that she doesn't really like that much and tried to mate with him like she was the male lol

    • @ParrotBliss
      @ParrotBliss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Talk about unexpected! On the other hand, they have personalities and preferences…. Have you tried to let her hang out with the Mountain boy?

    Pionus are my dream birds. I once talked to someone who owned a white-capped and they also had an amazon. He said that they are both native to the same region and typically will interact with each other in the wild, hopefully since you only have one she will get along with your amazons

    • @ParrotBliss
      @ParrotBliss  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope she does get along with my Amazons. Ursulus (Mexican Red-headed Amazon) is very interested in her. Brad, what kind of parrots do you have now and why don’t you have a Pionus? Which of the 8 species would you choose?

    I’m looking forward for pionus in my family… however I afraid about climates changes.. My place gets cold as low as 3 deg in winters and hot as high as 45 deg in summers…
    Is it safe for pionus to live in these places .???

    Hello, I'm really interested in getting a pionus as my first bird but I know that they're really hard to find. I was wondering if anyone know a reputable breeder in California?

    And because thet have are more heavy body clipped wings can let them dy when they fall. So sick

    • @ParrotBliss
      @ParrotBliss  ปีที่แล้ว

      They have wings- and should be able to fly. We avoid clipping as much as possible.
