Except He's not our brother, He's our God. That part always bothered me. Jesus isn't my bro, He's God.
@@mayorofbasedville7680 He is our older Brother in the sense that the Father is our Father and Jesus is the Son of the Trinity. And God the Father calls us adopted sons and since in that sense we are sons towards the Father, we are in the same sense “brothers and sisters” towards Jesus (Mark 3:35) Of course no real Christian thinks of Jesus as my “bro” or “homeboy” we mean this in a real adopted sense of becoming heirs with Christ.

I would hope that's true. But there are some protestant circles that have taken such a casual attitude toward their faith that sometimes I wonder.
@@HBW87 Also, maybe I'm wrong or I'm splitting hairs here, but referring to Christ as our "brother" feels like flirting a little too closely to Arianism for my comfort. It's too casual and kinda de-emphasizes the full divinity of Christ.

This song is so beautiful, and I'm wondering why they chose to use the word "Brother", when Jesus is clearly Messiah? 🤔💜 Not knowing this group, it made me wonder if they are Jehovah witness because of what that doctrine believes. But everything else the song said was right on. If they would choose to use the title "Savior" in that line instead, it would fit so well spiritually and in the rhythm as well.👍
it is biblical to call jesus our brother and not heresy at all, jesus himself called his disciples brothers (matthew 28:10) and said that his brothers and mother and sisters are those who do the will of God (matthew 12:48-50)
