    I have been enjoying the Q3 and I think is much better than the Sony A7CR. I enjoy the cropping feature from 28-35-50-75-90mm. Hd, 4K & 8k video also. Only 29 minute record limit for video but I do love the smaller size of the camera. I bought me a Leather camera case that has a grip with a matching Leather Strap which looks fabulous. Rather have this than the Deluxe 8 which will need a front and thumb grip to hold it but it is tiny but bigger than the ZV-1M2 that I own also. So I like having the SL2-S and Q3 because they have the same battery and both have a Dummy Battery connected to a power bank which helps tremendously when I go out and do content. I own a lot of cameras and equipment and as I am getting older I like the smaller compact cameras that have a fixed lens. Leica Q3, Ricoh GR3 & GR3X, Sony ZV-1M2 (2) and RX100 VA. Dummy Batteries, Power Banks, 1tb SD storage are making my experience lot more enjoyable and the picture quality out of these cameras are excellent. I also love the Macro capabilities of these smaller Point & Shoot Cameras. The RX100 VA doesn't have this feature but f/1.8-2.8 is awesome and the others have the range of f/1.7-f/2.8 for their highest apertures. I still use the Mirrorless cameras and interchangeable lenses but not for long trips on vacations or family outings. Price is important because Leica are expensive. You are paying for craftsmanship, quality, maintaining and newer productions of equipment that have proven spectacular. I picked the Q3 over the Sony A7CR because of the fixed lens but the cropping capabilities. Haven't had it overheat yet when doing 4k video. Nice thing about cameras are that You are able to sell them and get glass or a better device that suit your purpose. Cheers!

      Yes, the used camera market is a wonderful aspect, so you can try all these different cameras and not lose your shirt!

    The SL3 is Way bigger and heavier than the Q3. As a point and shoot, the Q3 is on another level. The SL3 is in a different category of camera, you're comparing apples to oranges.

    The Q cameras are a gate way drug into the Leica systems. I prefer 28 to 35. I like to have a 28 and 50 when out with my M cameras. the 28 spends 90% of the time on my M. The SL line up has a lot more options and when you have a 24-90 zoom on it and weighs in at 300% more in weight. The Q cameras have macro. The 28 Summilux in the M line up and the 28 APO in the SL, basically cost more than the Q camera with the 28 already included. The Q is also the biggest selling camera, no reason to change it.

    Hey Marc had you lost weight? In relation to the video… they are two different animals for different purposes… so in my opinion they are NOT comparable.

      Thanks! Yes, always on a fitness journey! Have you tried the SL3 yet? It’s smaller than the SL2, so it’s closer to the Q3 now, and with its extra features (like I forgot to mention it has 2 card slots too) I think it does the street shooter/travel camera duty better than the Q3. But I get your point!

    A Q and SL are definitely not close in size and weight.

    I have always had a problem with the 35mm focal length. I usually go out with a 28 and a 50. The 35 for myself has either been not wide enough or too wide. I have a 35mm and I try to use it. I Will use my M lenses on the SL3 if I want to lighten up the kit. I have my Q2 but will keep it. I take it out when I am just traveling and wants something light. The SL3 with the 28SL APO is heavier than the Q2/Q3 The Q series is still the best selling camera in total numbers.

    Not that I disagree with anything you said, however... I don't think Leica is going to be in any hurry to change the format or the features of this camera until when and if the sales numbers go down. The Q3 is multi-month backordered.

    YES! Making the Q3 a system camera would make sense to me. It’s weird calling it compact when the fixed lens isn’t really that compact. Hopefully the rumored D-Lux 8 is real, and would have meaningful upgrades-like graduating to a pure Leica (no parts designed/made by Panasonic) and etc.

    I've got both. I love the Q3 and I will keep it as a second body. It costs about the same as the 28 mm APO SL and rather than fiddling around and changing lenses on the SL, I can quickly grab the Q3 from my bag and get my 28 mm shots.

    • @MarcAdesso
      @MarcAdesso  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That makes sense! I haven’t tried the APO SL 28mm- any read on how it compares to the Q’s lens?

    I couldn't agree more. I haven't touched my Q3 since the SL3 arrived. I'm kind of thinking...dare I say it...I might sell the Q3. An interchangeable Q that takes M and/or SL lenses? I'll take it!!

    I see cameras like the Q3 (and Zf) is for the touch screen generation and manufacturers have to innovate to pull these buyers in. Those of us who started with film had issues with digital when it came out, then mirrorless after we got used to DSLRs, an all screen rear on cameras seem to be the next thing coming. We may not like it but we can get used to it but, the younger generation will be served for some years before we die out and newer tech comes available that will annoy them as they age.

    • @MarcAdesso
      @MarcAdesso  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's an interesting point you make. While yes, I am definitely from the pre-digital camera/film generation, I still think AF points are easier nail with a joystick. But to your point, touch screens on cameras may get more precise, and then that point of view will indeed be totally obsolete...or the younger generation can learn from us old folks and try out joysticks, like from the Atari 2600 era! haha...Also, love your videos with John Ishii, my man in Malaysia!

      @@MarcAdesso LOL! Who knows what the future brings, what’s old becomes new again at times, sometimes for the older generation nostalgia sake and sometimes due to younger generation discovering old tech. These days I see a lot of videos on CCD cameras with a number on how great the Nikon D200 is. Oh man Atari, brings back memories! Ah you saw those, thanks for watching! Wanted to do more but, I’m heading out to Mongolia for the summer so will have to catch up in fall.

    Sorry but the FORM FACTOR of the Q3 is much smaller given that it doesn’t have a grip. I’m not saying that the Q3 is a better camera because of that. I’d still pick the SL3 over the Q3 any day of the week, but the Q3 IS a much more portable camera. A 35mm lens is not necessarily ‘better’, it’s a choice of lens that YOU like better and KNOW how to use better than a 28mm lens. Others would beg to differ. To me the Q3 is something you just grab and go with, leave the house with. To me the SL3 is something you plan a photo shoot with and spend time selecting the right lenses for BEFORE leaving the house. Just saying……. not criticizing you. I hope someone pays you what you paid for the Q3, but you should keep it. It’s a cute little camera that is a conversation piece……AND it shoots great photos….. oh but I just remembered that you don’t like 28mm……. how spoiled we are these days given the plethora of choices we have in the current market
