    I was there just yesterday. The guide man told us that the cost till this moment is 88M Swiss Fr. and it took 12 years to be constructed and planned. Wikipedia says: 5y and 52M CHF...
    The best video of the funicular that I found - Thank you!

    Basically, on the way down it's a frightening ultra-steep rollercoaster ride.

    Красиво и потрясающие виды пейзажи природы, только транспорт выглядит необычно кабины круглые.
    Вовремя движения кабины врашяются зависимости от уклона так чтобы пол был на уровне.

    I don't even remember watching this video 5 years ago, but since then I looked up the word funicular, and it seems this may not be a real funicular because it does not seem to have counterbalances up and down cables.

    Why do other countries seem so more advanced in their modes of transportation: i.e. bullet trains, funicular railways, super highways, ships that skim ABOVE the ocean etc.?

    • @skipbreakfast

      There's a lot of reasons, many of them political but also a general attitude. You should see their school buses, even!

    • @theproplady
      @theproplady 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's mainly because things are a lot closer together in Europe than they are in the US. That's why you don't see a lot of travel infrastructure until you get into a city in the US. Cities tend to have a lot of poor people here, so the only place you see fancy light rail is in fancy downtown/rich areas.

    Do those cars rotate to keep the floor level? This is really spectacular. Amazing, that must also be one heck of a long cable ... and probably costs a fortune. I hope they keep it well maintained and inspected. Amazing, hope to visit there someday.

    The steepest one is in Australia. In Europe in Zagreb the steep is 52 degree and Stoos is 47.

      Funicular What is located in Zagreb its a very short distance, around 65 meters so from my opinion there is no any comparison between this great work and the Zagreb Funicular,do u agree with me

    • @mihav.2824
      @mihav.2824 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@king2_abdullah I can't agree with you because Zagreb funicular is made a century ago. It was much harder to make that one at that time comparing to this project made with big machines.

    • @samuelbhend2521

      The one in Australia is a inclined elevator, one-car version (some might call it a "Winch car") tourist attraction, no public tranport to anywhere involved.
      The one in Zagreb is similar to the one i've seen in Budapest, it's the two-car version of inclined elevator, each car has it's own rail and a single cabin. In England where they originally came from , they're built as "Lifts"
      This here in Switzerland is a single-rail, two car (each with 4 cabins and 1 freight deck) funicular in public transport, it's the only way to get up to the village of Stoos. It has between 0 and 110% or 47.7° incline and is worlds steepest FUNICULAR

    It’s not a funicular is it? Unless there is a hidden counterbalance connected to the ‘tram’ by a rope which is unlikely given the changes in angle of the track.

    • @zdzisiek8311
      @zdzisiek8311  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a funicular. The are two cars which are connected via a rope going along the track.

    wouldnt a gradient of 110% be past vertical???

    • @zdzisiek8311
      @zdzisiek8311  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Inclination in % denotes how much elevation is gained with distance. 100% means every 1m ahead is 1m up. That is 45 degrees.

      M B I expect not scary as it will travel downhill at exactly the same speed as uphill. I think it’s on a coupled drive system. It would have to be or it couldn’t manage the gradient :)
