Not sure if you've found this yet or not, but in one of the Necromancer Journals it mentions him creating the armor elites using "bubbles" and carbonation - which I assume is the explanation for the sound they make when they die
Dunno if you knew about this yet, but "Alteration Ritual" from Time can give Legend perks, and if you get Pandemonium, you keep the rarity upgrades even after you lose Pandemonium, further solidifying my belief that Time is basically optimal in every build.
Yep, Time was the best before the gem high buff, now its not even close. Since melee dps doesn't outscale spells warped strike ends up being the best basic as well
Time paired with Mort is just an absolutely bonkers scaling machine. It has so many busted interactions. Like how Gem High reduces the intervals of Summoner and with Mort you can of course get a bunch of summons as well as more exp gems with Execution. I've tried that setup several times now and reaching 800%+ summon damage was not a problem at all. Also why they buffed Mayhem is beyond me. Can easily stack to 300%+ too now. Then you pair it with Justice because your damage is all covered and you become borderline untouchable with the Gem High speed and defensive stuff from Justice. Makes even 30 runs a walk in the park.@@gamingwithjeff
Been doing a similar build but using ravens as the skill skeles time out (items dont which make skeles much more viable)- stacking mayhem, summoner birds can get crazy. Fun thing, Gem high increases spell speed which increases minion attack speed and most importantly reduces the time between Summoner levelup
Did a curse only run with low tier mayhem yesterday on nixi. 511% damage increase, it was ridiculous. The crows, spirits and my curse activator attack killed dracula almost immediately, before he could finish the first summoning of spawns. I almost never attacked during this run, just zoomed around with lighting dashes and collecting as many shrines as I could find, while everything died without my direct help. Very broken, very fun.
After finding 150 evasion chest earlier today, I wonder if you can reach 100% chance to evade. And, while going "Time-Death-Lightning" as a meta starts to get stale, game has a REALLY good foundation, so I hope to see, well - just more of it really, since the game itself is AMAZING. Taking super adictive "Survivals" core and mixing with one of my favorite games ever - Hades, makes for a hell of time deleter. Enjoying your content. Keep it up.
The amulet dropped on Merris, but I've found other summon stuff of skadi so I think the character doesn't matter. Vampirism is sadly not viable unless you are learning hard into divine shield/ball lightning run away. Enemies do to much damage at d30 to not have any armor
ravens are really good if you get master and max them, their base damage is to low at level 1 to get good dmg with scaling. mayhem is only ok if you don't go maxing soulstealers+mayhem early as your summons kill and not the cursed
@@gamingwithjeff kinda, but mayhem needs the enemy to die from cursed to scale it(so its amazing for soulstealer builds as they will fly around and offscreen and let the curse kill), on my RNG is on my side summoner run... The summoner had gotten me > 1100% summons damage(picked up near 55 second mark at master(thanks spell speed map things for reducing CD)) and mayhem(picked up at expert around 4 minutes) had roughly 20% at the end since the ravens and skeleton army were just slaughtering everything super fast. ultimately its going to depend what you have going on, if your summons are doing the killing its ok, if cursed is finishing them off its great.
I always pick Vampirism on Merris, but that's because i have 252 hp on her as default with current gear :D I always lag the same way on the blue slime's wave and the 19min wave as well, hope they fix that. I have tried to make summoner work, the problem i notice is that they are: Too slow movespeed, too slow attack speed, too low damage, and the summon AI is garbage as a majority of your summons will run after the SAME enemy, wasting their potential, the run you did up to about 29mins was basically just a spell projectile run with Blades doing the heavy lifting, was fun to watch it tho hehe :D
When I was testing the items before recording I noticed that when I took Necromancy the end screen showed them doing almost do dmg. I think there's a problem with skeletons blocking each other from attacking to the point that after the 24 from the necklace you really aren't getting any value
Hey Jeff, I made a video with my interpretation of the optimal Skadi luck build on difficulty 30. Killed Drac in about 2 and a half seconds, and discuss a little bit of the decision making involved if you’re interested. It’s the strongest build I’ve played by far. What do you consider meta?
@@gamingwithjeff some other fun facts: -taking wings early when going justice is a free power multiplier, you attack all the time anyway, so it literally doubles your movement speed for the cost of 1 lvl up which you instantly get back with more exp and shrines thanks to it -consecration stacks with % heals, taking it easily doubles your effective hp - pair it with purification and be amazed
Not sure I'd call this a summon build, you only took one level of a few summons in each run. Seems like more blades/soulstealers runs. Maybe necromancy sucks because you only took one white blessing in it? Maybe it just doesn't touch the other spells. V Cool tho and long live the algorithm.
@gamingwithjeff oh definitely. I have this on my steamdeck as I'm in a longterm care facility. And I just got Kront. I like your videos so I have better ideas on how to build my characters.
Necromancy and Ravens are both fairly strong boss killers. You do have to put some effort into buffing their damage and movespeed to really get them going. They also have no problem with letting you get sniped sooo yeah not my go to but you are underrating them. Another problem is that Soulstealers and Lifelink are so ridiculously powerful it overshadows the summons.
@@gamingwithjeff even normal damage, with right build, buff is stronger than summons problem with summons is they are slow and they have ridiculous ai pathing most of the time they only do 50k-100k damage depending on how slow your char in killing mobs. if you have 4 onyx and 2 acquired dragons maybe cause of aoe once you figured out the build im talking about, the end game afk build youll probably understand where im coming from
omg the AI on pets is so bad. they should up the movement speed on pets and/or make them scale with your movement speed. they just lag behind all the time and you have to wait forever for them to catch up. talk about anti-fun
This isn't Blizzard or GGG who made this it's an indie dev, the games great some things work better than others, be thankful for what you have. Play the game for what it as and politely ask for improvements on their official channels in a civilised way :)
so what? how hard would it be to add movement speed to the pets? or make the leash range half-screen? stop making excuses. be thankful? what kind of cuckery is this? you have a total slave mindset. if people don't complain about the stuff that's wrong with the game, nothing will ever get fixed, particularly not when it's easy shit like this. it takes them 5 minutes to implement this code until they can come up with a better solution to the AI@@Jabarri74

An opacity slider for spells would definitely be welcome

Those 3 gods are my build usually. Time and Mort run great together
Nice win. I love summoner builds :) Very broken with mayhem added to the mix.
Hey I'm old too! Love DAoC and Shadowbane.
I never got to play Shadowbane but it looked sweet back in the day!

I've gotten to like 66%. There are definitely improvements to be made to the gear, but it's hard to see it going to 100 from gear alone.
Fairly certain there are diminishing returns so you can never hit 100%
I'd have gone with vampirism, with an attack build. Your skeleton army is dope. I didn't even know these items exist! Did you get them on Merris?
The amulet dropped on Merris, but I've found other summon stuff of skadi so I think the character doesn't matter. Vampirism is sadly not viable unless you are learning hard into divine shield/ball lightning run away. Enemies do to much damage at d30 to not have any armor
@@gamingwithjeff the idea is you banish that legend if it appears on a d30 run so as to not get it again so your not wrong
Necromancy skeletons probably did so little dmg because unless they are Master, they are much slower than the summons from items.
The strongest summoner build:
The one without most of the summon skills.
There's also a random affix that can roll on weapons that gives you some skellies. Only seen 4 at a time though which seems pretty lackluster.
4 is definitely not enough, you can get a dragon on weapons though

Does vampirism extend to your summons? If so I actually think you'd be okay with this build.
You know what, I did not think of that. If so you're right but I have no idea
Any idea what the background track is in the game? for example 31:55
no idea, would probably have to ask the devs in discord

I ran into a problem where the summons from the amulet don't give the summons from Necromancy room to attack.....kind of awkward lol
To be honest I do enjoy summoner builds, but in this game they are so bad compared to spells.
