no no you and most players started at the Starfleet Academy on earth - but me / ken-x started in a ship name unknown what was under attack by the Borg - and i had to fight my way to command a beaten ship call the Khitomer from the Borg cubes- yes that was my 1st ship but it was a 2nd hand ship lol- we lose some good Starfleet officers that day - look up - star trek online 2013 Tutorial Khitomer
For Tactical seats ideally you'd want all SROs (Superior Romulan Operative) from the romulan embassy (rare male). For a Romulan captain you want all your bridge officers to be SROs.
After ten years of the game, the STO wiki still desperately needs a comprehensive reference list of traits & abilities that do or do not stack. While I'm at it, I wish someone would cover all the different types of radiation and how to buff/combine them.
I remember asking on reddit if the Rom SRO or Uhura was better . The answer I got back then was "Rom" . For Sci's , if you have him , Spock is a good one due to his unique Astrophysicist trait .
the Vanguard Jem Hadar Boffs are better for Engi seat than Uhura, tho i like Uhura alot and use her on alot of my toons simply because of tha,t the difference in DPS is minimal in the end, so it realy doesnt matter that much

Eck! That's really not a good selection for dps or new players. Example 1: Geordi LaForge - Leadership. Leadership is an awful space ability so Geordi is useless in space, then leadership takes up a trait slot so he's not as well suited for ground as a pure ground Boff. Example 2: Lorca and Landry are from Star Trek Las Vegas 2019, so no one can get that anymore or if they can, it's incredibly difficult. You're explaining the difference between ground and space traits so it sounds like this is a video for new players, then why have a Boff that no one can get anymore? This would only confuse new players. Example 3: SROs are better than Kentari. Heck, Pirates are better than Kentari because they stack and they don't require a kill, so you get the damage increase on your first target, not your second. That's why my very first character went grey by what I'll assume was 22 or 23 - still hungover after finals and told he had to go fight the Borg.

Lorca and his Superior Warfare Specialist owns every tactical seat on my ships, and Bashir every science chair
you can get cross faction boffs once you hit tier 4 diplomacy or marauder
I chose my bridge officers according to their space abilities.
THAT is the best thing. I think many forget about that they have space traits. Lorca is the best to get, but he’s rare.
Hope you update this when we eventually get the Janeway hologram
Boff traits desperately need an overhaul...somthing where you assign them 4 Space and 4 ground traits from a pool, like you have for your captain.

I have some for space and my away team is optimized for ground, except for my Romulans which kick ass at everything...

If you have the Bashir boff, you have essentially the Lorca boff. They are the same
